§ 01Overview
What the BOSPR116B is
The Bosch PR116B is the white mullion external smart-card reader for the Bosch Solution 6000. It brings arming, disarming and door access to an entry point, so users tap a MiFare card or token instead of keying a PIN, and the slim mullion shape suits a door frame or narrow surface outside.
It is rated IP66 and made from UV-stabilised ASA plastic for vandal and weather resistance. The reader uses the MiFare 40-bit proprietary format at 10.3MHz and works with Bosch PR301B, PR350B and PR365B cards and tokens. Communication uses a high-security, encrypted two-way authentication format, and red, green and blue LEDs show area and door-lock status at all times. A 500mA lock output and an egress input let it control a single door alongside the alarm.
The PR116B connects to the panel over an encrypted RS485 LAN and occupies one standard keypad position; each reader is given a unique address on the rotary switch. It runs on 10 to 14.5VDC at 100mA max and suits the Solution 6000 (and the Solution 16i and 144), not the Solution 2000 or 3000. It is for external mounting on a sturdy wall and is fitted by a licensed installer. The PR115B is the same reader in a slimline black housing.

§ 04Why choose this
Built for the way you actually use the BOSPR116B
Built for outside
An IP66 rating and vandal-resistant ASA housing let you mount it at an exposed entry, gate or carport.
Mullion fit
The slim white mullion shape suits door frames and narrow surfaces, and matches light-coloured trims.
Alarm and access in one
It controls the Solution 6000 alarm and a single door, with a lock output and egress input built in.
§ 05Where it fits
Right at home in these scenarios
Door-frame mounting
The mullion housing fits the narrow frame of a glass or aluminium door at the entrance.
Front-door or gate access
Tap a card to disarm and enter, with a reader rated for sun and rain.
Staff entries
Issue PR-series cards or tokens so staff enter without sharing a PIN, with events logged on the panel.
Carports and side gates
A weather-rated reader suits exposed entries where an indoor keypad would not survive.
§ 06Setup
Installation & setup
What it is
An external MiFare smart-card reader for the Bosch Solution 6000 (also 16i and 144). It occupies one keypad position and provides alarm and access functions; it does not suit the Solution 2000 or 3000.
Wiring
Connect over the panel's encrypted RS485 LAN (up to 500m, or 1200m with Belden 8723). Power is 10 to 14.5VDC at 100mA max. Set a unique address on the rotary switch.
Door control
Use the 500mA protected lock output and the egress input to control a single door; cards are PR301B, PR350B or PR365B.
Professional install
In Australia a Bosch alarm should be installed by a licensed security installer, who wires the device to the panel, programs it and tests the system. Mount it on the door frame or a sturdy wall and enrol the access cards to the panel.
