01Overview
What the CM751B is
The Bosch CM751B turns a Solution 6000 from a dialler panel into a networked one. It plugs onto the panel's expansion port header, connects to the customer's IP network through an auto-sensing 10base-t or 100base-TX RJ45 port, and sends alarm reports over the LAN or the internet instead of the phone line.
Reporting is built for monitoring centres. Both Conettix and CSV-IP formats are supported, so the panel can report to a centre that uses either, and the link is protected by 128 bit AES Rijndael encryption, frequency variable polling, advanced authentication and constant network supervision. The panel keeps its PSTN dialler as a backup reporting path, and the module accepts dynamic or fixed IP addressing.
The same connection works in the other direction. An installer can configure the panel locally over the LAN or remotely over the internet with Solution Link upload and download software, operate outputs and areas remotely, and run Bosch's Site Manager software, which requires this module. It is also the wired route for the MyAlarm iFob Control app, a subscription service run by MyAlarm rather than Bosch, which lets several users control one panel and receive its notifications on Android and iOS.
It draws its power from the panel, so allow for it by derating the panel's available 12V accessory power by 60mA. The included HW750 riser kit lifts the module clear when the CM101B voice module shares the same panel. From panel firmware 2.15 the keypad's device-status screen shows the module's MAC and IP address, which is worth recording at install time for the site's network administrator.
It is a wired Ethernet module, not a Wi-Fi one, and it does not include the MyAlarm subscription. Firmware matters too: earlier panel firmware could leave a fitted module unable to restart after a power cycle while the LAN was secured, and firmware V2.53.19 fixed iFob and Solution Link connection problems seen on some sites, so keep the panel current. The module carries a 3 years warranty.
