What the UNVKIT-IPC3628LE-ADF28K-WP-6CAM-NVR501-08B-P8-IQ is

This kit pairs six IPC3628LE-ADF28K-WP ColorHunter turret cameras with the NVR501-08B-P8-IQ 8-channel recorder. Every camera takes one Ethernet run to the recorder, which powers it over PoE and records its stream, so there is no separate switch or power supply per camera. No hard drive is included: add a surveillance drive before checkout and the recorder is ready to record.

The IPC3628LE is the camera for a driveway or front door that should stay in colour after dark. A 1/1.8" CMOS sensor behind a 2.8 mm F1.0 lens holds colour down to 0.0003 lux, and a warm light reaching 30 m, switched automatically or manually, covers a yard with no light of its own. It records 8MP (3840 × 2160) at up to 20 fps, sees 111.0° across, and raises alerts on intrusion and cross-line detection based on human body and vehicle detection, so alerts are raised for people and vehicles rather than for any movement. A built-in microphone records sound; there is no speaker. 120 dB WDR is there for a subject against a bright sky, and the IP67 housing is rated for -30 °C to 60 °C.

The NVR501-08B-P8-IQ has 8 PoE ports at up to 30 W each and 75 W in total, records up to 16MP per channel, and takes one SATA drive of up to 16TB. With six cameras connected, 2 PoE channels remain for later.

Installation Requirements

1. One Cat5e or Cat6 Ethernet run from each camera to a PoE port on the recorder, up to 100 m per run; the port carries power and video together. 2. Mount each camera under an eave or on a wall; the turret body pans and tilts in its base, so aim after fixing. 3. Fit a SATA surveillance hard drive in the recorder and connect its network port to your router for remote viewing. Recording runs on the local network without internet.

Setup

1. Power the recorder, set a strong password and initialise the drive from the storage menu with overwrite enabled. 2. Add the cameras on the PoE ports from the recorder's camera menu and set each camera's name and time. 3. Draw each camera's intrusion and cross-line zones tight to your own property and both rules detect on people and vehicles.

Does the Uniview 6-camera IPC3628LE kit come with a hard drive?
No. The NVR501-08B-P8-IQ has one SATA bay for a surveillance-rated drive of up to 16TB, and a drive must be fitted and initialised before it records. Choose a 2TB to 10TB drive in the kit customiser before checkout, or fit your own.

Can the NVR501-08B-P8-IQ power all six cameras?
Yes. The recorder supplies IEEE 802.3af and 802.3at PoE at up to 30 W per port and 75 W in total, and each IPC3628LE draws a maximum of 3.9 W, so six cameras need 23.4 W at most.

Can I add more cameras later?
Yes. 2 of the 8 PoE channels are free, and the recorder records up to 16MP per channel, so a further Uniview PoE camera plugs straight into a spare port; keep the total draw under the recorder's 75 W PoE budget (six IPC3628LE use 23.4 W at most).

Do the cameras record sound, and can I talk through them?
It records sound, but cannot talk back. Each IPC3628LE has a built-in microphone and no speaker, so audio is captured alongside the video and there is no two-way talk or siren on the cameras. Check your state's rules on audio recording before enabling it on cameras that face public space.

Is night footage in colour or black and white?
In colour. The IPC3628LE holds colour down to 0.0003 lux on its 2.8 mm F1.0 lens, and its warm light, reaching 30 m under automatic or manual control, lights a scene with no light of its own, so night footage stays in colour rather than dropping to infrared black and white.

Does it need an internet connection?
Not for recording. Recording, detection and playback run on the recorder over your local network; internet is only needed for remote viewing, which the recorder supports over P2P for up to 128 remote users.
