§ 01Overview

What the IPC3628LE-ADF28K-WP is

The Uniview IPC3628LE-ADF28K-WP is built around one idea: keep colour at night on as little light as possible. A 1/1.8" sensor behind an F1.0 lens holds colour down to 0.0003 lux, and ColorHunter with Wise-ISP tunes the picture for it, so an existing porch light or street light may be all it needs. The warm light, reaching 30 m under auto or manual control, is the backup for a black yard rather than the main event.

It records 8MP (3840*2160) at Max 20fps, or 5MP and 4MP at Max 30fps where smoother motion matters more than pixels, in Ultra 265, H.265 or H.264 with dual streams. The 2.8 mm lens sees 111.0° horizontally, wide enough for a double driveway or a shopfront from one position, and the DORI figures put detection at 63.0 m and identification at 6.3 m, so faces need to pass close if identification matters.

120 dB WDR keeps a face readable in a doorway with the sun behind it. Smart Intrusion Prevention Lite adds intrusion and cross line detection based on human body and vehicle detection, so an alert means a person or a car rather than a moving branch, alongside motion, ultra motion, tampering and audio detection.

It has a built-in microphone but no speaker and no two-way audio, so it records sound and cannot talk back, and it has no alarm input or output for a siren or a gate contact. It also has no infrared illuminator: at night the picture is colour by ambient light or by the warm light, never a black and white infrared image.

The metal and plastic body is sealed to IP67, works from -30 °C to 60 °C and carries 4 KV surge protection. Power is PoE (IEEE 802.3af) or DC 12V±25% at Max 3.9 W, and a Micro SD card up to 512 GB with ANR keeps recording through a network dropout.

What the IPC3628LE-ADF28K-WP features actually look like

Representative illustrations of how each key feature performs in a real scene.

8MP Ultra HD

8MP (4K) resolution captures four times the detail of 1080p.
Even when a person or car is far down the driveway, you can zoom in and still recognise a face or read a number plate — detail that lower-resolution cameras lose.

Full Color Night Vision

Unlike plain black-and-white night vision, this camera can capture colour after dark — so you can pick out the actual colour of a car, a jacket or a bag, detail that grey infrared footage loses.

Human/Vehicle Detection

Smart detection focuses on people and vehicles and can ignore things like swaying branches, rain or small animals — helping cut down false alerts and making the right moments easier to find.

IP67 Weatherproof

Sealed against dust and water to IP67, built to keep working through rain, storms and harsh sun — suitable for fully outdoor mounting.

§ 04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the IPC3628LE-ADF28K-WP

Colour at night without a floodlight

The Uniview IPC3628LE-ADF28K-WP holds colour down to 0.0003 lux through its F1.0 lens and 1/1.8" sensor. Where there is some ambient light the picture stays in colour on its own, and where there is none the warm light covers 30 m.

Faces survive a bright background

120 dB WDR handles the shot that defeats cheaper cameras: someone in a doorway with afternoon sun behind them. The face stays readable instead of turning into a silhouette.

Alerts that mean something

Smart Intrusion Prevention Lite raises intrusion and cross line alerts on human body and vehicle detection. The recorder hears about a person at the gate, not about the weather.

Wide enough for the whole approach

The 2.8 mm lens sees 111.0° horizontally and 63.0° vertically. A double driveway or a shopfront fits in one frame from a single mount.

Records through a dropout

A Micro SD card up to 512 GB sits in the camera, and ANR caches footage on it when the network to the recorder fails and transfers it back afterwards. The gap is filled once the link is back.

Low power, built for outside

It draws Max 3.9 W over PoE, so a modest PoE switch runs several of them. The IP67 body is rated for -30 °C to 60 °C with 4 KV surge protection.

§ 05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Front door or porch in an Australian home

Under an eave, the Uniview IPC3628LE-ADF28K-WP puts a visitor inside its 6.3 m identify range as they reach the door, while the 111.0° view still holds the path on either side. A porch light may be enough to keep the picture in colour, with the warm light there for a darker approach.

Driveway

The 111.0° horizontal view takes in a two-car driveway from one corner. A vehicle is detectable at 63.0 m and recognisable at 12.6 m, so point the camera along the approach rather than across it.

Shopfront or side passage

Above a shop door or looking down a side passage, the camera records sound through its built-in microphone as well as colour video. For a passage with no light at all, the warm light to 30 m does the work.

§ 06Setup

Installation & setup

01

What is in the box

The Uniview IPC3628LE-ADF28K-WP arrives as the camera itself with its fixed 2.8 mm lens and cable tail; no bracket, plug pack or memory card is included. The TR-JB03-I-IN junction box takes the cable from behind the camera, the TR-WM03-D-IN wall bracket, TR-UC08-C corner bracket, TR-UP06-IN pole bracket, TR-SE24-IN and TR-SE24-A-IN pendant poles and TR-CM24-IN indoor pendant bracket are the other listed options.

02

One cable per camera

Run one Cat5e or Cat6 cable from the recorder or PoE switch to each camera and keep a single run under 100 m; beyond that a switch is needed part way. Keep the cable junction inside a junction box or conduit rather than exposed to the weather.

03

Power

PoE (IEEE 802.3af) carries power and video on the one cable, or use a DC 12V±25% supply where power already exists. The camera draws Max 3.9 W, so it is an easy load on any PoE port.

04

Recorder, drive and monitor

Put the recorder somewhere ventilated near the router and fit a hard drive before recording. Connect a monitor for the first setup, then add the camera to a PoE port on a Uniview recorder or to the recorder over the network.

05

App and network setup

Remote viewing runs through an EZCloud account and the EZView app, which also handles password reset and sharing between accounts. Give the camera a fixed address on the recorder or router during setup so it does not drift later.

06

When to call an electrician

A PoE camera on an existing recorder is not electrical work. Use a licensed electrician for a new power point or mains-connected equipment, and a registered cabler wherever local cabling rules require one.

§ 08Questions

Frequently asked about the IPC3628LE-ADF28K-WP

Q.01

Does the Uniview IPC3628LE-ADF28K-WP record in colour at night?

Yes. The Uniview IPC3628LE-ADF28K-WP is a ColorHunter model whose F1.0 lens and 1/1.8" sensor hold colour down to 0.0003 lux, so with a little ambient light it stays in colour without switching a light on. Where there is not enough, the warm light covers 30 m.
Q.02

Does it have infrared night vision?

No. Its supplemental light is a warm white light, not infrared, so at night the picture is colour by ambient light or by the warm light. Choose a model with an infrared illuminator if you need night vision nobody can see.
Q.03

Can I talk to someone through the camera?

No. It has a built-in microphone, so it records sound, but no speaker and no two-way audio. It also has no alarm input or output for a siren or a gate contact.
Q.04

Which lens should I choose, 2.8 mm or 4.0 mm?

This model is fixed at 2.8 mm with a 111.0° view and identification at 6.3 m, the usual choice for a doorway, driveway or shopfront. The IPC3628LE-ADF40K-WP sibling has a 4.0 mm lens that narrows the view to 94.2° and pushes identification out to 9.0 m, so pick it only when reach matters more than width.
Q.05

How far away can it identify someone?

The DORI figures are Detect 63.0 m, Observe 25.2 m, Recognize 12.6 m and Identify 6.3 m. Put the camera where faces pass within 6.3 m if identification matters.
Q.06

Will it work with a recorder from another brand?

Yes, through ONVIF Profile S, G or T, RTSP, its API or SDK, as long as the recorder supports the same standard. Uniview's own clients are UNV-Link, UNV-Link Pro and EZStation.
Q.07

How is it powered?

By PoE (IEEE 802.3af) over the network cable or by a DC 12V±25% supply. Power consumption is Max 3.9 W.
Q.08

Can it record without a recorder?

Yes, to a Micro SD card up to 512 GB inside the camera. With ANR it also caches recordings on the card during a network dropout and transfers them once the connection returns.
Q.09

Will it cope with an Australian summer?

It is rated IP67, works from -30 °C to 60 °C and has 4 KV surge protection, so under an eave or on a wall it is well inside its rating. Give it shade where you can, because direct all-day sun is hard on any camera.

§ 10Bundles

Recommended packages

01

Pair it with a Uniview PoE NVR

The Uniview IPC3628LE-ADF28K-WP is powered and recorded by a PoE NVR without a separate switch. At Max 3.9 W per camera the PoE budget goes a long way; choose channels for the cameras planned now and later.

02

Add a Micro SD card

A Micro SD card up to 512 GB lets the camera record on its own and, with ANR, bridges a dropout between camera and recorder. It is the simplest way to keep footage when the network fails.

03

Add the bracket for the position

The TR-JB03-I-IN junction box takes the cable from behind the camera where it cannot go straight through the wall, the TR-WM03-D-IN bracket puts it on a wall, and the TR-SE24-IN pendant pole or TR-UP06-IN pole bracket hangs it from a ceiling or fixes it to a pole.
