§ 04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use it

01

TandemVu — Overview + Detail in One Camera

Two sensors in one bullet body: a wide-angle overview lens and a motorised zoom detail lens. See the big picture and close-up at the same time.

02

8 MP Overview + ANPR Zoom

The wide lens monitors the full scene. The zoom lens (10–50 mm) reads number plates or captures faces.

03

ColorVu 24/7 Colour

F1.0 aperture keeps colour footage around the clock. No black-and-white IR switching.

04

On-Board ANPR

Reads and logs plates without a separate server. Supports whitelist/blacklist matching.

05

IP67 Heavy-Duty Build

Metal housing for outdoor and roadside installations.

§ 05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

01

Car Park with Wide Coverage Needs

Wide lens watches the full lot. Zoom lens reads plates at the entry or a specific lane.

02

Commercial Building Approach

Overview captures all vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Detail lens zooms into faces or plates on demand.

03

Logistics Yard or Depot

Monitor the full yard with one camera. ANPR logs truck plates at the gate.

04

Retail Precinct or Mall Driveway

Wide view covers the forecourt. Zoom captures plate detail for incident review.

§ 06Setup

Installation & setup

01

What's in the Box

1. Hikvision iDS-2CD8A86G2-XZHSY Camera × 1 2. Mounting Bracket × 1 3. Quick Start Guide × 1

02

Installation Requirements

1. Power: PoE (IEEE 802.3af) or 12V DC. 2. Cable: Cat5e or Cat6, max 100 m. 3. Mounting: Wall or pole. The TandemVu body is larger than a standard bullet — plan bracket strength. 4. Position: Aim the wide lens at the overall scene. The zoom lens adjusts remotely.

03

App Setup

1. Download Hik-Connect app (iOS or Android). 2. Power the camera via PoE. 3. Add by QR code or serial number. 4. Configure each channel: set the zoom level on the detail lens. Enable ANPR if needed.

§ 07Questions

Frequently asked

Q.01

Does it use two NVR channels?

Yes. The overview and detail streams are separate. Budget two channels.
Q.02

Can the zoom lens auto-track?

It can be linked to the overview lens — when the overview detects a target, the zoom lens can be configured to focus on it.
Q.03

Is the ANPR as good as a dedicated ANPR camera?

It works well for moderate-speed applications (car parks, driveways). For high-speed road ANPR, a dedicated unit like the iDS-2CD7A46G0/P is better.
Q.04

Does it have a microphone?

Check the specific variant. The XZHSY suffix indicates alarm I/O and audio I/O ports.
Q.05

What zoom range does the detail lens have?

10–50 mm motorised. About 5× optical zoom.
