Installation Requirements
1. Power: PoE++ (Hi-PoE, 60W) or 24V AC. This is a high-power PTZ — standard PoE is not enough. 2. Cable: Cat5e or Cat6, max 100 m for PoE++. 24V AC requires a separate power run. 3. Mounting: Pole, wall, or parapet mount. Camera weighs about 8.5 kg — use heavy-duty brackets rated for the load plus wind. 4. Height: 6–10 m for best 42× zoom performance.
App Setup
1. Download Hik-Connect app (iOS or Android). Create an account. 2. Power the camera. Wait about 2 minutes for full boot and self-test. 3. Add by QR code or serial number. 4. Set presets, patrol routes, and smart tracking rules. Configure face capture zones if needed.

Does it need PoE++?
Yes. It draws up to 60 W. Standard PoE (15 W) and PoE+ (30 W) are not enough. Use a Hi-PoE injector or 24V AC.

How far can the 42× zoom actually see?
At 252 mm, the field of view is about 1.5°. In good light you can identify a person at 200+ metres and read a plate at 100+ metres.

Is 4 MP enough at this zoom level?
Yes. At full zoom the field of view is very narrow, so 4 MP captures plenty of detail in that small area.

Does it have a wiper?
Some variants (AELW) include a wiper. Check the specific model suffix. The AELY variant does not include a wiper.
