§ 01Overview

What the DS-2CD5A26G0-IZS is

The Hikvision DS-2CD5A26G0-IZS is a 2 MP DarkFighter bullet with a motorised 2.8 to 12 mm zoom, chosen for sites where the light is poor and the action is fast.

Rather than chase a high megapixel count, it puts a 2 MP image on a large 1/1.8" sensor, which gathers far more light per pixel, so it stays clean at dusk, under street lighting and in shadow.

It runs at up to 60 fps, which keeps moving vehicles and people sharp instead of smeared, and 140 dB Wide Dynamic Range holds detail when a dark yard sits against a bright sky or headlights.

This is the -IZS model with the 2.8 to 12 mm lens, and its infrared reaches up to 50 m for night cover.

(The longer 8 to 32 mm version of this family reaches further, but that is a different lens build; this listing is the 50 m model.) DarkFighter is a low-light, high-sensitivity technology, not a white-light ColorVu, so the night image is sharp black and white under infrared rather than full colour.

The motorised lens lets you set zoom and focus remotely from wide-angle to a tighter long view, which suits a perimeter or a long approach that you want to frame from the ground.

On-camera VCA covers line crossing, intrusion, region entry and exit, face detection and people counting, useful for an enterprise perimeter, though this generation does not carry AcuSense human and vehicle classification, so treat its smart events as scene-based rules.

It supports five streams, takes a microSD card up to 256 GB, and uses H.265+ to cut bandwidth.

The metal body is IP67 and IK10, and it runs on PoE (802.3at) or 12 VDC.

Record it to a Hikvision NVR for continuous, searchable footage.

What the DS-2CD5A26G0-IZS features actually look like

Representative illustrations of how each key feature performs in a real scene.

50m IR Night Vision

Built-in infrared sees in total darkness up to around 50m — good for longer driveways, car parks and wider properties. People and vehicles stay visible well beyond the reach of a porch light.

IP67 Weatherproof

Sealed against dust and water to IP67, built to keep working through rain, storms and harsh sun — suitable for fully outdoor mounting.

§ 04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the DS-2CD5A26G0-IZS

Made for poor light

A 2 MP image on a large 1/1.8 inch sensor with DarkFighter stays clean at dusk and under street lighting, where high-megapixel cameras go grainy.

Sharp on fast movement

Up to 60 fps keeps moving vehicles and people clear, so number plates and faces are not smeared at the moment that matters.

Frames from the ground

The motorised 2.8 to 12 mm lens is set from software, so one camera covers a wide area or reaches a long approach without a ladder.

Built tough

An IP67, IK10 metal body with 140 dB WDR handles weather, knocks and harsh backlight on an exposed perimeter.

§ 05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Low-light perimeters

Dusk, shaded fence lines and street-lit yards are where the DarkFighter sensor earns its place, with clean detail when other cameras struggle.

Roads, gates and entrances

60 fps capture keeps fast vehicles and people sharp, and the zoom reaches a gate or lane from one mounting point.

Loading docks and yards

140 dB WDR balances a dark dock against a bright opening, so you keep detail in both at once.

Enterprise sites needing VCA

Line crossing, intrusion and counting rules suit larger sites that build their own scene-based event logic.

§ 06Setup

Installation & setup

01

In the box

Camera, mounting template and screw pack, a waterproofing kit for the network lead and the quick start guide. A microSD card, NVR and power supply are bought separately.

02

Mounting

Surface-mount the bullet to a wall or eave and angle it along the line you want to watch. A junction box tidies the cabling on a flush wall.

03

Power and cabling

Run one Cat6 lead to a PoE (802.3at) switch or NVR, or use a 12 VDC supply. Keep the run within about 100 m or add a PoE switch or extender.

04

Setup tips

Set the motorised zoom from software for the framing you want, raise the shutter speed where you need to freeze fast vehicles, and aim infrared away from nearby walls to avoid glare.

§ 07Questions

Frequently asked about the DS-2CD5A26G0-IZS

Q.01

Why is the DS-2CD5A26G0-IZS only 2 MP when other cameras are 8 MP?

It trades pixel count for light. Fewer, larger pixels on a 1/1.8 inch sensor collect more light, so the image stays clean in poor light where a high-megapixel camera turns grainy. For dusk, shaded yards and street-lit areas, this DarkFighter image is usually cleaner than an 8 MP camera on a small sensor.
Q.02

How far does its night vision reach, and is it in colour?

The 2.8 to 12 mm -IZS model has infrared up to 50 metres. DarkFighter is a low-light technology, not a white-light ColorVu, so the night image is sharp black and white under infrared rather than full colour.
Q.03

I have seen this model listed with 100 m IR. Which is right?

Both exist as different lens builds. The 8 to 32 mm version of this family reaches up to 100 metres. This listing is the 2.8 to 12 mm -IZS, which is rated to 50 metres. Match the lens to the distance you need to cover.
Q.04

What is 60 fps useful for?

Sixty frames per second doubles the smoothness of standard 25 to 30 fps recording, so fast vehicles, runners and the moment of an incident stay clear rather than blurred. It helps on roads, gates and busy entrances.
Q.05

Does it have AcuSense human and vehicle detection?

No. This generation uses VCA smart events such as line crossing, intrusion and face detection, which are scene-based rules. It does not carry AcuSense human and vehicle classification, so if filtering people and vehicles is essential, look at an AcuSense model instead.
Q.06

Does it record audio?

No. The datasheet lists no audio input or output and no microphone, so this model is video only. If you need sound, choose a camera with a built-in microphone.
Q.07

Can I set the zoom remotely?

Yes. The 2.8 to 12 mm lens is motorised, so you set zoom and focus from the NVR or software after mounting, without returning to the camera.
Q.08

What do I need to run it?

A single PoE (802.3at) cable to a switch or NVR, or a local 12 VDC supply. Record it to any Hikvision NVR; a microSD card up to 256 GB gives on-board backup if the network drops.

§ 09Bundles

Recommended packages

01

Record and review it

Send it to a Hikvision NVR such as the 4-channel DS-7604NI-M1/4P for a small site or the 8-channel DS-7608NI-M2/8P for more cameras, and add a surveillance drive like the 6 TB drive for continuous footage.

02

Cover the wide-area view as well

Pair this low-light zoom bullet with an 8 MP wide camera such as the DS-2CD3786G2HT-LIZSUY dome so you get both detail at distance and full-scene context.

03

Add on-camera storage

A microSD card up to 256 GB records to the camera and keeps footage if the network link drops.
