Installation Requirements
1. Power: PoE (IEEE 802.3af) or 12V DC. 2. Cable: Cat5e or Cat6, max 100 m. Camera also has RS-485 and BNC ports. 3. Mounting: Ceiling or wall. Position directly above the counting line or monitoring zone. Camera weighs about 1 kg. Use junction box for cable management. 4. Height: 3–4 m recommended for best stereo depth accuracy. The two lenses must face straight down for people counting.
App Setup
1. Download DMSS app (iOS or Android). Create an account. 2. Power the camera via PoE. Wait about 90 seconds. 3. Scan the QR code or add by serial number. 4. Calibrate the stereo analytics: set counting line, height filter threshold, and zone boundaries in the web interface or DSS software.

What is the advantage of dual-lens over a single-lens people counter?
Dual lenses create 3D depth, so the camera knows how tall and far away each target is. This gives much higher counting accuracy — especially in crowds or when people walk side by side.

Can I use it as a normal surveillance camera too?
Yes. It records standard 4 MP video alongside the analytics. You get both a regular video stream and the stereo analysis data.

Does it need a special NVR?
Any Dahua NVR that supports 4 MP will record the video. For the analytics data (people counts, event logs), you may need DSS Pro software or a compatible NVR.

What is the maximum mounting height?
Recommended 3–4 m for people counting. Above 5 m, stereo accuracy drops.

Does it work outdoors?
