Confirm 4G coverage first

Performance depends entirely on carrier signal at the site. Check coverage with your chosen carrier at the exact mounting position before purchase; weak signal affects live view and alerts.

Provide 12V DC power

This model is not PoE. Plan a correctly rated, weatherproofed 12V DC, 4A supply at the camera; a network cable alone will not power it.

Mount for a large PTZ

At about 4.2kg and 325mm long it needs solid mounting hardware. Use a Dahua-compatible pole or wall bracket and a junction box, and have it installed professionally for stability and weather sealing.

Set up tracking via rules

Auto Tracking and deterrence are driven by IVS tripwire and intrusion rules, so define the detection zones for the scene during commissioning.

Infrared reaches up to 150m for long-range black-and-white coverage, while the Starlight sensor holds colour detail in low light. The white light extends to 50m and is used mainly for deterrence.

What does Auto Tracking do?
Once a target is detected, the camera automatically pans, tilts and zooms to follow it across the scene, which is useful for large open areas where a subject travels through the full field of view without an operator at the controls.

Can it keep recording if the 4G drops?
Yes. A microSD card up to 256GB provides on-camera recording so footage continues during network interruptions, with FTP and NAS as additional options.

For a wired site, record to a Dahua NVR such as the 8-channel NVR4108HS-8P or 16-channel NVR4216-16P, fitted with a 6TB or 8TB surveillance hard drive. On pure 4G sites, many installs rely on the onboard microSD plus DMSS instead.
