tp-link VIGI SP18090 Intelligent Solar Power Supply System 2× 90W

SKU: VIGI SP18090
Description

The TP-Link VIGI SP18090 is the highest-capacity intelligent solar power system in the VIGI range, for off-grid sites that need to run more than one camera or a power-hungry PTZ. It pairs two 90 W photovoltaic panels (180 W total) with a 93.6 Ah / 10.95 V lithium battery built from three modular cells, and provides three DC outputs including a stable 12 V feed for high-speed PTZ cameras. Its modular design splits into the controller, the battery cells, the dual panels and the 180 W mount for easier transport and service. A camera is not included.

§ 01Overview

What the VIGI SP18090 is

The TP-Link VIGI SP18090 is the largest intelligent solar power system in the VIGI line-up, made for off-grid installations that one of the smaller systems cannot power — sites running two or more cameras, a high-speed PTZ, or anything that needs longer autonomy in low-sun conditions. It supplies two 90 W photovoltaic panels for 180 W of generation and a 93.6 Ah / 10.95 V lithium battery made up of three modular cells. A camera is not included; this is the power system on its own.

Capacity is the point of difference. Where the SP6020 is sized around a single camera and the SP9030 around one camera with longer runtime, the SP18090's larger panels and triple-cell battery are built to carry a heavier or multi-device load. It provides three DC outputs, and TP-Link specifies the 12 V output (port #3) for high-speed PTZ cameras that need a stable supply; all VIGI IP cameras are compatible, including the C5-series PTZ models. The modular construction — separate controller, battery, dual panels and 180 W mount — makes the system easier to transport and service on remote sites than a single sealed unit.

Like the rest of the range it uses intelligent auxiliary heating so the battery charges and discharges reliably from about -30°C to 60°C, offers six-position angle adjustment from 5° to 55°, and is rated for more than 500 cycles. The controller carries an IP66 rating and the solar panels are rated IP67 for full outdoor exposure. Through the VIGI app you get power statistics, real-time load status, battery level, low-battery alerts, remote reboot and firmware updates across the larger battery bank. It is genuine stock with a local 3-year warranty and support.

Note on specifications: the official datasheet rates this system at 93.6 Ah total battery capacity with an IP66 controller and IP67 panels; some older marketing copy quotes 180 Wh or IP65, which are superseded by the datasheet figures above.

§ 04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the VIGI SP18090

Highest capacity in the range

Two 90 W panels and a 93.6 Ah battery power loads the smaller SP6020 and SP9030 systems cannot.

Runs PTZ and multiple cameras

A dedicated 12 V output and large battery suit high-speed PTZ cameras and multi-camera off-grid sites.

Modular and serviceable

Separate controller, battery, panels and mount make transport, installation and service easier on remote sites.

Built for the outdoors

An IP66 controller, IP67 panels and intelligent heating handle exposed sites and cold conditions.

§ 05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Multi-camera off-grid sites

Power two or more cameras on a remote farm, compound or worksite from a single solar system.

PTZ on remote perimeters

Run a high-speed PTZ on a stable 12 V feed to sweep long boundaries and access roads off-grid.

Large rural and mining sites

Suit higher-draw deployments where the smaller solar systems would run short on capacity.

Low-sun or winter locations

The larger panel area and battery bank give more headroom in shaded or southern installations.

§ 06Setup

Installation & setup

01

What's in the box

The VIGI SP18090 system as modular parts: the controller (PS90), the 93.6 Ah battery cells, two 90 W solar panels, the 180 W mount, waterproof cable attachments, mounting accessories, an extension cable and guides. VIGI cameras are supplied separately.

02

Installation requirements

Assemble the mount and two panels, fit the controller and battery, and set the panel angle for your latitude. Connect a high-speed PTZ to the 12 V output and other cameras to the remaining DC outputs within the rated budget, then add the system in the VIGI app to monitor battery and load.

§ 07Questions

Frequently asked about the VIGI SP18090

Q.01

Is a camera included with the SP18090?

No. The SP18090 is the solar power system on its own - two 90 W panels, a 93.6 Ah lithium battery, the controller and the mount. You add your own VIGI cameras, which are sold separately.
Q.02

How many cameras or what kind of camera can it power?

It is the highest-capacity VIGI solar system, built for multi-camera and high-speed PTZ setups rather than a single low-draw camera. All VIGI IP cameras are compatible, including the C5-series PTZ models. The exact number depends on each camera's power draw within the system's output budget.
Q.03

How do I power a PTZ camera from it?

High-speed PTZ cameras need a stable 12 V supply, which the SP18090 provides on DC output #3. Connect a PTZ to that output and other lower-draw cameras to the remaining outputs, keeping the total load within the system's rated budget.
Q.04

What is the real battery capacity and weatherproof rating?

The official datasheet rates the battery at 93.6 Ah total, made from three 31.2 Ah cells, with an IP66 controller and IP67 solar panels. Some older marketing copy lists 180 Wh or IP65, but the datasheet figures of 93.6 Ah and IP66/IP67 are the correct ones to rely on.
Q.05

Why is it described as modular?

It splits into separate parts - the controller, the battery cells, the two solar panels and the 180 W mount - rather than being one sealed unit. That makes it easier to carry to a remote site, lift into position and service later.
Q.06

Does it work in cold weather?

Yes. The battery has intelligent auxiliary heating, so it charges and discharges reliably from about -30 to 60 degrees Celsius, which keeps a larger off-grid system running through cold mornings and winter conditions.
Q.07

Can I manage it remotely?

Yes. Through the VIGI app you get power statistics, real-time load status, battery level, low-battery alerts, remote reboot and firmware updates across the larger battery bank, so a multi-camera off-grid site can be supervised without frequent visits.

01

Add VIGI cameras

Power multiple cameras or a PTZ - connect models such as the VIGI C540-4G 4G pan-tilt camera within the system's output budget.

02

Need a smaller, single-camera system?

For one camera the SP6020 and SP9030 are more cost-effective.

03

Prefer a ready-made single-camera kit?

The SP6020 solar kit pairs a camera and solar system in one box for simple off-grid jobs.
