§ 01Overview

What the VIGI NVR4064H is

The TP-Link VIGI NVR4064H is a 64-channel network video recorder for the largest VIGI installations — multi-building campuses, industrial sites and businesses consolidating many cameras onto one recorder. It records cameras up to 8MP (4K), uses H.265+ compression to keep that many high-resolution streams manageable, and can be switched into an extended bandwidth mode for heavier deployments.

As with the NVR4032H, the NVR4064H has no built-in PoE ports. Cameras are powered by external PoE switches and connect to the same network as the recorder, which is the normal approach at this scale where switches are distributed around the site. The recorder is built for multi-operator monitoring: it has two HDMI outputs (HDMI1 and HDMI2) plus VGA, so several screens can show different camera groups at once. Note that HDMI2 and VGA cannot run at the same time — if both are connected, HDMI2 takes priority as the second output.

Storage is four SATA bays, each taking a surveillance-grade drive of up to 16TB, for up to 64TB total. The drives are not included; fit WD Purple or Seagate SkyHawk drives sized to your camera count and how long you need to keep footage, bearing in mind that 64 channels of continuous recording uses storage quickly. It supports ONVIF Profile S/T for third-party cameras, surfaces smart events from the connected VIGI cameras, and is managed through the VIGI app, Security Manager or web. It is genuine stock with a local 3-year warranty and support.

§ 07Questions

Frequently asked about the VIGI NVR4064H

Q.01

Does the NVR4064H have built-in PoE ports?

No. Like the NVR4032H, it has no built-in PoE. Cameras are powered by external PoE switches and connect to the same network as the recorder. At 64 channels this is the usual approach, with switches distributed around a large site, so plan your PoE switching separately.
Q.02

How many cameras and what resolution does it support?

It records up to 64 channels and supports cameras up to 8MP (4K). H.265+ compression and an extended bandwidth mode help it manage that many high-resolution streams across a large installation.
Q.03

Does it include a hard drive, and how much can it hold?

No drive is included. It has four SATA bays, each taking a surveillance-grade drive of up to 16TB, for up to 64TB total. With 64 channels recording continuously, plan for large drives and keep an eye on your target retention period.
Q.04

How many monitors can it drive?

It has two HDMI outputs plus VGA for multi-screen monitoring. Note that HDMI2 and VGA cannot operate at the same time - if both are connected, HDMI2 takes priority as the second screen alongside HDMI1.
Q.05

Will it work with third-party cameras?

Yes. It supports ONVIF Profile S/T, so it works with VIGI cameras and many ONVIF-compliant third-party cameras. VIGI cameras paired with the VIGI app and Security Manager give the most complete smart-event features.
Q.06

Can I monitor it remotely?

Yes. The VIGI app, Security Manager and web interface give remote live view, playback and alerts across the full channel count, so a large site can be supervised from a phone or central workstation.
Q.07

Is this recorder NDAA compliant?

Yes. TP-Link VIGI is NDAA compliant, which suits government, education and other sites with approved-hardware requirements. The recorder is genuine stock supplied with a local 3-year warranty and support.

No drive is included - fit up to four 8TB, 10TB or 6TB drives sized to 64 channels of recording.

02

Need built-in PoE instead?

For smaller sites where the recorder should power the cameras, the NVR2016H-16P has 16 built-in PoE+ ports.

03

Need fewer channels?

For up to 32 cameras, the NVR4032H offers the same no-PoE design at a lower channel count.

04

Add VIGI cameras

Connect full-colour cameras such as the VIGI C445 through your PoE switches to the recorder.
