§ 01Overview

What the DS-2CE16H8T-IT3F is

The Hikvision DS-2CE16H8T-IT3F is a cost-effective way to bring high-definition video to an analogue CCTV system. It is a 5 MP Turbo HD bullet camera that sends its picture down the coaxial cable you already have, so you can upgrade older cameras to 5 MP detail without running new network wiring.

Because it is a 4-in-1 camera, it outputs TVI, AHD, CVI or CVBS, which means it works with almost any modern Turbo HD or analogue DVR - you simply match the signal to your recorder. At night, EXIR 2.0 infrared lights the scene evenly out to 60 m, and 130 dB true WDR with 3D DNR keeps the image clear against bright backlight and in low light. A 2.8 mm or 3.6 mm fixed lens gives a wide view of a yard, driveway or building face, and the IP67 housing handles outdoor weather.

A couple of honest notes so you order the right parts: this is an analogue Turbo HD camera, not an IP camera, so it connects to a DVR over coax rather than to an NVR over the network, and it does not have PoE. It runs on a 12 VDC supply, and like any infrared camera its night images are black-and-white.

Representative illustrations of how each key feature performs in a real scene.

60m IR Night Vision

§ 04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the DS-2CE16H8T-IT3F

Upgrade without rewiring

5 MP detail over your existing coax means a high-definition upgrade without pulling new network cable.

Works with almost any DVR

4-in-1 TVI/AHD/CVI/CVBS output matches modern Turbo HD and analogue recorders.

Strong night vision

60 m EXIR 2.0 infrared lights the scene evenly for clear black-and-white images after dark.

Clear in tricky light

130 dB true WDR and 3D DNR keep faces and vehicles visible against glare and in low light.

§ 05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Analogue system upgrades

Replace ageing analogue cameras with 5 MP detail while keeping the existing DVR and coax.

Yards and driveways

Cover an open yard or driveway with a wide-angle bullet and long-range IR.

Building perimeters

Watch the face of a home or business with a weatherproof outdoor camera.

Budget HD coverage

Add affordable high-definition coverage where running network cable is not practical.

§ 06Setup

Installation & setup

01

What's in the box

One DS-2CE16H8T-IT3F 5MP Turbo HD bullet camera with mounting template and fixings. The DVR, coaxial cable and 12 VDC power supply are supplied separately.

02

Installation requirements

Mount it on a wall or eave aimed at the area to cover. Run coax back to your DVR and switch the camera to the matching signal (TVI, AHD, CVI or CVBS). Provide 12 VDC power to the camera, then set the view and confirm the night-time IR on the DVR. It is an analogue camera, so it does not use the network or PoE.

§ 08Questions

Frequently asked about the DS-2CE16H8T-IT3F

Q.01

Can I use the DS-2CE16H8T-IT3F on my existing coax cabling?

Yes. It is a Turbo HD analogue camera that sends 5 MP video down standard coaxial cable, so you can upgrade older analogue cameras to high definition without running new network wiring.
Q.02

What does 4 in 1 mean?

The camera can output four signal types - TVI, AHD, CVI or CVBS - and you switch it to match your recorder. That makes it compatible with almost any modern Turbo HD or analogue DVR.
Q.03

How far does the night vision reach?

It has EXIR 2.0 infrared that lights the scene evenly out to 60 m. As with any infrared camera the night image is black-and-white.
Q.04

Does it connect to an NVR or to a DVR?

To a DVR. This is an analogue camera, so it connects over coax to a Turbo HD or analogue DVR, not over the network to an IP NVR.
Q.05

How is it powered - does it use PoE?

No, it does not use PoE. It is powered by a separate 12 VDC supply run to the camera, while the coax carries the video.
Q.06

What lens options does it have and how wide is the view?

It comes with a 2.8 mm or 3.6 mm fixed lens. The 2.8 mm gives a wider field of view for covering a yard or building face, while the 3.6 mm reaches a little further with a slightly narrower angle.
Q.07

Is it suitable for outdoor use?

Yes. It has an IP67 weatherproof rating, so it stands up to dust and rain on outdoor walls and eaves.
Q.08

Will it handle bright backlight, like a driveway facing the sun?

Yes. It has 130 dB true WDR plus 3D DNR, which balances bright and dark areas in the same scene and reduces noise, so faces and vehicles stay visible against strong backlight.
