§ 01Overview

What the AE-VC122T-ITS is

The Hikvision AE-VC122T-ITS is a 720P mobile vehicle camera engineered for the knocks of life on the road.

Its compact, shock-proof conch housing and aviation-plug connector are made for buses, trucks, vans, forklifts and emergency or work vehicles, where vibration, dust and big temperature swings would defeat an ordinary camera.

It uses a 1/2.9-inch progressive-scan CMOS sensor for smooth 720P HD-TVI video with reduced motion blur, and is available with 2.1mm, 2.8mm or 3.6mm fixed lenses giving a field of view from a wide 117 degrees down to a more focused 75 degrees - so you can fit it to a cabin, a doorway, a blind spot or a load area.

A built-in infrared light supports low-light and night capture, and a built-in microphone adds audio context to recordings (note it is a microphone only, so it does not provide talk-back).

Power is a simple 9-16VDC at up to 2.2W, and it operates from -40 to 75 degrees in up to 90% humidity.

The camera outputs HD-TVI video over coax via an aviation plug, so it is designed to connect to a mobile DVR (MDVR) rather than a network NVR, and it does not use PoE.

A patented universal adjustment mechanism makes aiming quick during installation.

Please note the product title lists it as a 1080P AE-VC222T-ITS; per Hikvision, this SKU (AE-VC122T-ITS) is a 720P mobile camera.

§ 04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the AE-VC122T-ITS

Made for vehicles

A shock-proof conch housing and aviation connector handle the vibration, dust and temperature swings of mobile use.

Audio and night vision

A built-in microphone and infrared light add context and low-light capture for incident review.

Flexible field of view

Three lens options from 117 down to 75 degrees fit cabins, doorways, blind spots and load areas.

Simple to power

A 9-16VDC supply at just 2.2W wires straight into the vehicle's electrical system.

§ 05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Buses and coaches

Monitor drivers, passengers and doorways for safety and incident recording with audio.

Trucks and vans

Cover cabins, load areas and blind spots on delivery and service fleets.

Forklifts and machinery

Add wide-angle visibility in warehouses, loading docks and tight industrial spaces.

Emergency and work vehicles

Capture interior or exterior activity in patrol, service and utility vehicles, including at night.

§ 06Setup

Installation & setup

01

Choose the lens and spot

Pick the lens for the coverage you need and a mounting point that sees the cabin, doorway or blind spot clearly.

02

Mount and aim

Fix it with the universal adjustment mechanism and aim it, allowing for the vehicle's movement and vibration.

03

Wire to the MDVR

Run the aviation-plug lead to the mobile DVR, carrying video, audio, power and ground, and supply 9-16VDC.

04

Check and test

Confirm the framing and audio on the MDVR, then road-test to make sure the image stays steady under vibration.

§ 07Questions

Frequently asked about the AE-VC122T-ITS

Q.01

What resolution is the AE-VC122T-ITS?

It is a 720P HD-TVI mobile camera. Note the store title lists it as a 1080P AE-VC222T-ITS, but per Hikvision this SKU, AE-VC122T-ITS, is a 720P model - the specifications here follow the correct 720P camera.
Q.02

What recorder does it connect to?

It outputs HD-TVI video over coax through an aviation plug, so it is designed to connect to a mobile DVR (MDVR) in the vehicle. It does not use PoE and is not intended for a network NVR.
Q.03

Does it work in the dark?

Yes. It has a built-in infrared light for capturing black-and-white images in dark cabins and low-light conditions, suited to overnight fleet and cabin monitoring.
Q.04

Which lens option should I choose?

Choose 2.1mm for a very wide 117-degree view, 2.8mm for balanced coverage, or 3.6mm for a narrower, more detailed 75-degree view, depending on the space you are covering.
Q.05

Can it capture audio?

Yes. It has a built-in microphone that adds audio to recordings. It is a microphone only, so it does not provide two-way talk-back through a speaker.
Q.06

Is it built for vehicles with vibration?

Yes. It has a shock-proof conch design and an aviation-plug connector, and operates from -40 to 75 degrees, so it is made for buses, trucks, forklifts and other work vehicles.
Q.07

What power does it need?

A simple 9-16VDC supply at up to about 2.2W, taken from the vehicle's electrical system through the aviation connector.
Q.08

Where is it typically used?

Inside buses, trucks and vans to watch drivers, passengers and blind spots, and in forklifts, mining and agricultural machinery where a rugged, wide-angle camera is needed.
