The Hikvision DS-PT1-WE is a wireless tag reader for the Hikvision AX PRO wireless alarm range, giving users a simple, contactless way to operate the system with a Mifare tag instead of a PIN code. Fitted at an entry point, it lets family members or staff stay-arm, away-arm or disarm the alarm by area with a single swipe, which is ideal for high-traffic doors where typing a code each time is awkward.

This is the 868MHz version (model suffix -WE), and an important point applies to every AX PRO peripheral: the tag reader's radio frequency must match your AX PRO hub. The -WE reads on 868MHz, while the -WB reads on 433MHz, so confirm your hub's band before ordering and choose the matching reader. It communicates over two-way wireless with AES-128 encryption, reaching up to 1200m in open space, supports an arming process with fault confirmation and patrol tag check-in, and uses a multi-colour LED to show area, arm, disarm, alarm, fault and signal states.

Compatible credentials include the Hikvision DS-PT-M1 Mifare tag and standard Mifare cards. Note that DS-PWA96-series hubs already include a built-in tag-reading area; this external reader is most useful for adding a convenient reading point right at a door, or for giving a DS-PWA64-series hub the tag function it does not have built in. It is powered by three AA batteries for up to two years of standby, has front and rear tamper protection, measures 75 x 124 x 21 mm and is for indoor wall mounting. The AX PRO system is not compatible with the older Axiom range.

Check your AX PRO hub is 868MHz to suit this -WE reader; if it is 433MHz, choose the DS-PT1-WB version instead.

Choose the spot

Pick an indoor wall position by the door, within strong wireless range of the hub, and fit the 3 AA batteries.

Add the reader to the hub in the app, then enrol each Mifare tag under User Management, Card/Tag.
