What the KIT-PHA64 is

The Hikvision KIT-PHA64 is a ready-to-install AX Hybrid Pro alarm kit that gives you the core of a professional hardwired intrusion system in one box.

At its centre is the DS-PHA64-LP/NP AX Hybrid Pro control panel, with eight onboard zones that expand to 64 wired or wireless zones, support for 45 users and eight areas, so the kit covers a typical home now and grows with the property later.

The kit is wired.

It includes a DS-PK1-LRT-HWB LCD keypad with a built-in card reader for arming and disarming, an outdoor DS-PS1-B siren strobe (IP54, 105 dB) to raise the alarm, and three DS-PDP18-EG2 indoor PIR detectors that are pet immune to cut false alarms and wire back to the panel with end-of-line resistors.

A power supply and a 12 V 7 Ah backup battery are included so the system keeps working through a mains outage.

Because it is the AX Hybrid Pro platform, you can later add wireless detectors and peripherals through a Tri-X wireless receiver if running cable is difficult.

You manage everything from the free Hik-Connect app — arm and disarm, see zone status and receive push notifications — with no forced monthly fee for self-monitoring; an alarm receiving centre can be added later if you want professional monitoring.

A couple of honest notes: the DS-PS1-B siren is IP54 (splash resistant, mount it under cover) and has no internal battery, drawing backup from the panel; and the PDP18 detectors are wired, not wireless.

Installation requirements

Mount the panel in a secure indoor location near power and the network, wire the keypad, three PIRs and outdoor siren back to the panel with the supplied end-of-line resistors, fit the backup battery, then enrol the system in Hik-Connect for app control and alerts. Mount the IP54 siren under cover and the PIRs at the recommended height aimed across each room. Professional installation is recommended.

Is there a monthly fee to use it?
No. You arm, disarm and receive push notifications through the free Hik-Connect app for self-monitoring, with no forced subscription. If you want a security company to respond, the panel can also report to an alarm receiving centre, which is a separate service you arrange.

Will the pet-immune detectors ignore my dog?
The DS-PDP18-EG2 detectors are pet immune, so a typical dog or cat moving at floor level should not trigger them when they are mounted at the recommended height. Keep furniture a pet can climb out of the detection path, since a pet up high and close to the sensor can still cause a trigger.

Is the siren weatherproof for outdoors?
The DS-PS1-B is an outdoor siren strobe rated IP54, which is splash resistant rather than fully weatherproof, so mount it under an eave or other cover. It has no internal battery and draws backup power from the panel during a mains outage.

Does it keep working in a power cut?
Yes. The included 12 V 7 Ah backup battery keeps the panel, detectors and reporting running through a mains outage for a period that depends on the system load, so the alarm stays armed and can still alert you.
