What the DS-PS1-B is

The Hikvision DS-PS1-B is a wired external siren sounder, part of Hikvision's AX Hybrid alarm range.

It pairs a loud 105 dB sounder (measured at 30 cm) with a bright LED strobe so that, when the alarm is triggered, it both alerts the people nearby and draws attention to the property - a visible, audible warning that helps deter an intruder.

Because it is a wired device, it connects to your alarm control panel and is powered from it on 8 to 16 VDC (12 VDC is typical), drawing about 70 mA at full output.

That means there is no battery inside the sounder to fail or replace.

The sound and the LED strobe can be configured to operate separately, and the unit has front tamper protection so the system is alerted if anyone tries to open it.

The strobe is available in red or blue.

The housing is moulded PC+ABS and rated IP54, which makes it splash-resistant rather than fully weatherproof, so mount it in a sheltered external position - under an eave or porch - or indoors.

It measures 140 x 134 x 33 mm and weighs 185 g.

One DS-PS1-B wired external siren sounder with mounting hardware. Cabling and an alarm control panel are required and not included.

Installation requirements

Mount the sounder in a sheltered external position or indoors, run the siren cable back to your alarm panel, and wire it to a siren/bell output powered at 8-16 VDC. Configure the sound and strobe behaviour at the panel, confirm the front tamper is monitored, and test the alarm output before handover. Because it is mains-independent and powered from the panel, ensure the panel has a healthy back-up battery. Professional installation is recommended for hardwired alarm work.
