The Hikvision DS-PDBG8-EG2-WB is a wireless acoustic glass-break detector for AX PRO alarm systems. Instead of waiting for movement inside the room, it listens for the distinctive sound signature of breaking glass and raises the alarm at the point of entry, so a smashed window or glass door is caught immediately.
A high-quality omni-directional microphone covers up to 8m across a 120° spread, with selectable 2, 4, 6 and 8m sensitivity so you can match it to the room. Its digital processing recognises a wide range of glass - float, plate, tempered, wired, laminated leaded and double glazing - from 2.4 to 6.4mm thick and pane sizes from 0.3 x 0.3m up to 3 x 3m. A built-in alarm input also lets it carry two wired zones (normally closed, normally open or impulse count) for nearby contacts.
It links to the hub over Tri-X two-way wireless, rated up to 1km in open space, with AES-128 encryption and frequency hopping against interference. Two CR123A batteries give up to five years of standby life, and front and rear tamper switches report tampering. Mount it indoors on a wall or ceiling facing the glass you want to protect.
