Where a standard PIR floods a whole room, a curtain detector throws a thin, tall sheet of detection along a line - across a window, a glass door, a hallway or a set of curtains - so it catches movement at that line while leaving the rest of the space clear.

It reaches up to 15m over a narrow 6.3 degree angle across 18 detection zones, with a detectable speed of 0.3 to 2m/s. Digital signal processing, digital temperature compensation, a 6500lux white-light filter, sealed optics and creep-zone protection keep detection steady and reduce false alarms. Set-up and sensitivity are handled remotely in the Hik-Connect app, and the battery is easy to replace with PCB protection.

It links to the hub over Tri-X two-way wireless on 433MHz, rated up to 1.2km in open space, with AES-128 encryption and frequency hopping for a secure, jam-resistant connection. A single CR123A battery gives up to five years of life, and front and rear tamper switches report interference. It mounts indoors on a wall at 2.4 to 3.6m. Please note this curtain model has no pet immunity, so for rooms where pets roam freely choose a pet-tolerant PIR instead. It pairs with a Hikvision AX PRO wireless hub and is not compatible with the older Axiom system.
