§ 01Overview
What the DH-IPC-HFW4230MP-4G-AS-I2-0360B-HW120 is
The Dahua DH-IPC-HFW4230MP-4G-AS-I2 is a 2MP bullet that connects over the 4G mobile network instead of a wired internet connection, so it can be deployed where there is no NBN, no Wi-Fi and no network cabling.
With a SIM card and a mobile data plan it streams and sends alerts over cellular, which makes it a practical choice for construction sites, farms, rural blocks, off-grid sheds and remote yards across Australia.
A 1/2.9-inch 2MP Starlight sensor holds colour detail in low light, and Smart IR reaches up to 40m for night coverage.
It records to a microSD card up to 256GB at the edge (the card is not included), and supports IVS tripwire and intrusion detection.
Because it is a 4G camera it is powered by 12V DC and does not use PoE, so it is commonly run from a solar power kit with a battery for a fully off-grid install.
It is supplied with a fixed 3.6mm lens, with a 6mm option, and the IP67 housing handles dust and rain.
It has IVS rule-based detection rather than SMD human and vehicle classification, and it does not have a built-in microphone, so it does not record on-site audio.

§ 04Why choose this
Built for the way you actually use the DH-IPC-HFW4230MP-4G-AS-I2-0360B-HW120
Built for off-grid sites
12V DC power suits running from a solar kit and battery, making it practical for remote farms, blocks and construction sites.
Colour low-light detail
A Starlight sensor holds colour in dim conditions, with 40m Smart IR for full darkness at remote yards and approaches.
Weatherproof and self-contained
An IP67 housing and edge microSD recording keep it working at exposed sites with no on-site recorder needed.
§ 05Where it fits
Right at home in these scenarios
Construction and work sites
Temporary monitoring of plant, materials and access on sites with no fixed power or internet, powered by solar and 4G.
Farms and rural blocks
Watches gates, sheds, water points and laneways across acreage where running cable is impractical.
Off-grid and remote assets
Covers pump stations, tanks, depots and remote infrastructure that have no mains power or wired network.
Gates and entry points
A wide 3.6mm view and 40m IR cover an entrance or driveway at a property without existing cabling.
§ 06Setup
Installation & setup
Fit a SIM and check coverage
Install a SIM card with an active data plan and confirm the carrier has solid 4G coverage at the exact site before committing to the position, as signal strength affects streaming reliability.
Provide 12V DC or solar power
This camera does not use PoE. Provide a 12V DC supply, or for an off-grid install pair it with a solar power kit and battery sized for the camera and the local sunlight.
Mount and fit a microSD card
Fix the bullet to a wall, post or bracket with a clear view of the area, and fit a microSD card up to 256GB for edge recording, as the card is not included.
Set IVS rules and remote viewing
Configure tripwire and intrusion zones and set up the Dahua app for remote viewing and alerts over the mobile network.

§ 09Bundles
Recommended packages
Power for off-grid sites
As a 12V DC 4G camera, it suits a solar power kit with a battery for sites with no mains supply, or a standard 12V DC supply where power is available. It does not use PoE, so no network switch or PoE NVR is needed.
Storage
Fit a microSD card up to 256GB for on-board edge recording; the card is not included. Recording and viewing are handled over the mobile network through the Dahua app rather than a local NVR.
SIM and data plan
Add a SIM card with a mobile data plan from a carrier with good coverage at the site. Allow enough data for the amount of live viewing and recording you expect, as continuous streaming uses significant data.
