Description

The Dahua ITC413-PW4D-IZ1 is a 4MP ANPR camera built specifically to read number plates and act on them at a single-lane entry or exit. A deep-learning engine recognises the plate, vehicle type, brand and colour, and onboard relay outputs can trigger a boom gate or barrier directly, with no separate access controller required.

§ 01Overview

What the ITC413-PW4D-IZ1 is

The Dahua ITC413-PW4D-IZ1 is a dedicated 4MP Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) camera for controlled vehicle entry and exit points, not a general camera adapted to read plates.

Its 1/1.8" sensor, 140 dB WDR and motorised 2.7-12mm lens are tuned for capturing reflective plates at a 3 m to 8 m distance and a 3 m to 4 m lane width, for vehicles up to 80 km/h, with capture accuracy of 99% or greater.

The deep-learning engine reads the plate and also classifies vehicle type, brand and colour.

Two relay outputs let the camera trigger a barrier, boom gate, lights or a siren directly when a plate on the allowlist is recognised, and a Wiegand output plus 2 RS-485 channels integrate with existing access control panels.

Allowlists and blocklists hold up to 110,000 entries each, stored on the camera, so access decisions can be made locally without a constant server connection.

Built-in IR is tuned for plate capture to about 10 m, with general video coverage to 30 m.

The aluminium housing carries IP67 and IK10 ratings for unsupervised outdoor mounting, a built-in microphone and 2 W speaker support two-way audio, and a microSD slot holds up to 256 GB for local plate images.

Power is PoE+ (802.3at) or 12 VDC.

What the ITC413-PW4D-IZ1 features actually look like

Representative illustrations of how each key feature performs in a real scene.

4MP Ultra HD

4MP captures roughly twice the detail of standard 1080p.

30m IR Night Vision

Built-in infrared lets the camera see in complete darkness up to around 30m — enough for a typical driveway, front yard or entrance. People and vehicles stay clear in black-and-white, brighter the closer they are.

IP67 Weatherproof

Sealed against dust and water to IP67, built to keep working through rain, storms and harsh sun — suitable for fully outdoor mounting.

Two-Way Audio

Talk and listen in real time through the app — tell a courier where to leave a parcel, or speak to someone at the gate, whether you're home or away.

§ 04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the ITC413-PW4D-IZ1

Plate reading done right

This is a purpose-built ANPR camera, not a standard camera with software bolted on, so plate capture geometry and accuracy are designed in.

Opens the gate on its own

Onboard relay outputs trigger a barrier directly from the allowlist, so single-lane entry and exit can run without a separate access controller.

Handles harsh entry lighting

140 dB WDR with Scene Self-Adaptation keeps plates readable as vehicles move from bright sun into shaded ramps, the usual failure point for ANPR.

Works offline

Allowlists and blocklists of up to 110,000 entries live on the camera, so access keeps working even if the network or server drops.

§ 05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Parking entry and exit

Relay outputs and the onboard allowlist automate boom-gate access for registered vehicles, with plate images stored locally for disputes.

Gated residential estates

Resident plates pass automatically while unknown plates trigger the blocklist response or an alert at the gate.

Logistics and fleet yards

Vehicle type, brand and colour data alongside the plate supports audit logs of truck and delivery movements at site entries.

Campus and institutional access

High-capacity lists and a Wiegand output feed plate credentials into an existing access control panel at hospitals, universities and business parks.

§ 06Setup

Installation & setup

01

Mounting geometry

Designed for a single lane with a 3-8 m capture distance and a 3-4 m lane width. Position the camera to face oncoming traffic at the right angle; a poor location cannot be fixed by zoom alone.

02

Gate wiring

Relay outputs can drive many barrier and gate controllers, but confirm the trigger voltage and current of your specific hardware before wiring. Use the Wiegand output for panels that accept Wiegand input.

03

Power

Supply PoE+ (802.3at) or 12 VDC. Confirm the switch or injector port supplies 802.3at, as standard PoE is not sufficient for the illuminator and speaker load.

04

Software

Integrates with Dahua DSS Pro, DSS Express and Smart PSS over ITSAPI for structured plate events, and supports ONVIF Profile S/T for third-party platforms.

§ 07Questions

Frequently asked about the ITC413-PW4D-IZ1

Q.01

Can this ANPR camera open a boom gate on its own?

Yes. Its 2 relay outputs can trigger a barrier or boom gate directly when a plate on the allowlist is recognised, so basic single-lane access works without a separate controller, provided the gate accepts a dry-contact trigger.
Q.02

What vehicle speed can it read accurately?

It captures plates for vehicles travelling up to 80 km/h within its designed 3-8 m capture zone and 3-4 m lane width, with capture accuracy of 99 percent or greater.
Q.03

Does it read plates at night without extra lighting?

Yes. Built-in 850 nm infrared is tuned for plate capture to about 10 m, and the F1.4 aperture and WDR handle headlights, so no external lighting is needed for standard overnight operation.
Q.04

How many plates can the camera store for access decisions?

The allowlist and blocklist each hold up to 110,000 entries on the camera, so access decisions are made locally and keep working even if the network or server is offline.
Q.05

Does it have audio?

Yes. It has a built-in microphone with about a 3 m pickup and a built-in 2 W speaker, supporting two-way audio for spoken communication with drivers at the lane.
Q.06

How is it powered?

It runs on PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at) or 12 VDC. Confirm the switch or injector port supplies 802.3at, as standard PoE may not cover the illuminator and speaker load.
Q.07

What software does it work with?

It integrates with Dahua DSS Pro, DSS Express and Smart PSS over ITSAPI for structured plate events, and supports ONVIF Profile S and T for third-party platforms.
Q.08

Is it suitable for a multi-lane open car park?

It is designed for a single controlled lane with a defined capture geometry. A wide-area open car park or roadway is better served by a different camera class with server-side ANPR.

Recommended packages

02

Plan the gate hardware

The camera triggers a barrier via its relay outputs, but the boom gate or barrier motor itself is supplied separately. Confirm it accepts a dry-contact or relay trigger before ordering.

03

Cabling

Run quality Dahua Cat6 cable for a reliable PoE+ link from the lane back to the switch or recorder.
