The Bosch DS936 is a low-profile 360° ceiling-mount PIR motion detector for indoor spaces. Mounted in the centre of a room it watches a full circle around it, up to a 7.5 m radius, which makes it well suited to rooms, small offices and reception areas where a wall detector would leave blind spots. What the DS936 is

The Bosch DS936 is a discreet 360° ceiling PIR detector for indoor areas. Fitted to the centre of a ceiling it sees a full circle around it, up to a 7.5 m radius, so a single low-profile unit can cover a room, small office or reception without the blind spots a corner-mounted wall detector can leave. Its slim 3 cm-deep housing keeps it unobtrusive.

It is a wired detector built for a hardwired alarm system. It provides a normally-closed relay alarm output and a separate cover tamper switch, runs on 10 to 15 VDC and draws only 20 mA, and mounts on a surface, semi-flush, or onto a standard 10 cm octagonal electrical box at a height of 2 m to 3.6 m. A ±15° internal pointability lets you nudge the detection pattern, and the sealed detector chamber keeps drafts and insects out for reliable performance.

Two things worth knowing: it is a wired detector, so it connects by cable to an alarm panel rather than working wirelessly, and the 7.5 m radius makes it ideal for normal-sized rooms rather than large halls. Installation requirements

Mount it centrally on the ceiling at a height of 2 m to 3.6 m, on a surface, semi-flush or standard octagonal electrical box. Wire the normally-closed alarm output to a detection zone and the tamper to a 24-hour circuit on your panel, set the internal pointability if needed, and walk-test the full circle of coverage before arming.
