01Overview
What the DS9370 is
The Bosch DS9370 watches a room from the ceiling instead of a wall corner. Mounted at a central point it covers a 360° circle 14.0 m (46 ft) across, a 7.0 m (23 ft) radius, so a single detector watches an open floor from above instead of from one corner.
It only raises an alarm when two different technologies agree. Passive infrared and microwave Doppler radar must both be activated at the same time, First Step Processing gives a virtually instant response to a human target, and Microwave Noise Adaptive Processing adjusts to background disturbances such as moving air or machinery. If the microwave subsystem ever fails, the supervised design falls back to single-technology coverage rather than leaving the area unwatched.
The pattern can be shaped to the room. The 69 zones are arranged in 21 barriers, grouped in three sets of seven with separate vertical adjustment, and the supplied masks blank out 90°, 120°, 180°, 210°, 240° or 330° of the circle so a shop window or a doorway can be excluded.
It does not have pet immunity, so it is not the right detector for a space where animals move about while the system is armed, and it is not a wall detector: the recommended mounting height is 2.4 m to 6.1 m (8 ft to 20 ft) on a ceiling or on a standard octagonal electrical box. Under EN50131 the full 14.0 m coverage applies to ceilings up to 5.2 m (17 ft); the 6.1 m figure is the UL and ULC rating.
Wiring is conventional. It runs on 9 VDC to 15 VDC, drawing 12 mA in standby and 20mA in alarm, and signals through a Form C solid-state relay plus a normally closed cover and ceiling tamper. A high-efficiency LED with a light pipe makes the walk-test indication visible from the floor at any mounting height, alarm memory can latch that LED after an event, and the LED can be controlled remotely.

What's in the box
The Bosch DS9370 arrives as the detector with its hinged mounting base and modular chassis, plus a masking kit of two 120° and two 90° masks. The alarm panel and the field cable are separate purchases; Solution 2000 and 3000 panels supply their end-of-line resistors in the hardware pack.

Where to mount it
Mount it on the ceiling between 2.4 m and 6.1 m (8 ft to 20 ft), either directly or on a standard 10.2 cm (3.5 in.) octagonal electrical box, at the centre of the area to be protected. For an EN50131 installation keep the ceiling at or below 5.2 m (17 ft) for the full 14.0 m coverage.

Cable and end-of-line
Run one cable from the panel to the ceiling point carrying the 9 VDC to 15 VDC supply, the Form C alarm relay and the normally closed tamper loop, and keep the run within the length the chosen panel allows for a detector zone. On a Solution 6000 a shorted zone loop is treated as a tamper under every end-of-line configuration.

Power
The detector draws 12 mA in standby, 20mA in alarm and 24mA at most from a 9 VDC to 15 VDC supply, a light load on a 9 VDC to 15 VDC detector supply. There is no PoE option and no app to set up; it is a wired detector.

Adjust the three barrier groups vertically to suit the mounting height, then fit the supplied masks in one of the documented combinations to blank out 90°, 120°, 180°, 210°, 240° or 330°. Finish with a walk test and watch the LED and light pipe from the floor.

Pair it with a hardwired Solution panel
The Bosch DS9370 needs a panel zone that accepts its Form C relay, its normally closed tamper loop and a 9 VDC to 15 VDC detector supply. Check the zone input and end-of-line arrangement of the panel you choose, such as the Solution 3000 or Solution 4000 sold here, before pairing.
Add the cable for the ceiling run
Allow one cable from the panel to the ceiling point for power, alarm and tamper, sized to the length the panel permits for a detector zone. A ceiling run is usually longer than a wall run, so measure the route before buying cable.
Add a second detector for the rest of the floor
The 14.0 m (46 ft) circle covers one bay or one showroom. For a longer floor, add a second DS9370 on its own zone so the circles overlap where the aisles run.
