Description

The TP-Link VIGI C355 is a 5MP outdoor bullet network camera with full-colour night vision, human and vehicle detection, and built-in two-way audio. Connect it to a PoE recorder or switch for power and video over one Ethernet cable.

Lens: 2.8mm is the default, with a 111.4° horizontal view. Choose 4mm for a narrower 88° view. 4mm — ETA; arrival date to be confirmed.

Single camera only. NVR, hard drive and microSD card are sold separately. Choose a compatible recorder and surveillance hard drive below to build your system.

01Overview

What the TP-VIGI C355(2.8mm) is

Cover a driveway, shopfront or outdoor entry with the VIGI C355. Its 5MP image sensor records up to 2880 × 1620, while the default 2.8mm fixed lens gives a wide 111.4° horizontal view. The 4mm option narrows coverage to 88° and is listed as ETA.

White-light illumination supports colour footage after dark; infrared provides a black-and-white alternative. Both illuminators are rated to 30m. Built-in human and vehicle classification, line-crossing and intrusion detection help you focus on relevant activity. A microphone and speaker support two-way audio, audible warnings and flashing white-light deterrence.

The metal IP67 housing is rated for outdoor use from -30°C to 60°C. Power the camera from an 802.3af/at PoE port or a 12V DC supply. Record to a VIGI NVR with a surveillance hard drive, or use the onboard microSD slot with a card up to 512GB. Storage is sold separately.

Installation & setup

  1. In the box

    1 × VIGI C355 camera with the selected fixed lens; Quick Start Guide; waterproof cable attachments; mounting accessories.

  2. Power and cabling

    Connect a Cat5e/Cat6 Ethernet cable to an 802.3af/at PoE recorder, switch or injector. A 12V DC supply is an alternative. The camera has one 10/100Mbps RJ45 port.

  3. Mount and aim

    Mount to a suitable wall or ceiling and adjust the bracket. Seal the cable connection with the supplied waterproof attachments.

  4. Storage

    NVR, surveillance HDD and microSD card are separate purchases. Install a drive in the recorder for NVR recording, or a microSD card up to 512GB in the camera.

Frequently asked about the TP-VIGI C355(2.8mm)

Q.01

Should I choose 2.8mm or 4mm?
The default 2.8mm lens has a 111.4° horizontal field of view for broader coverage. The 4mm lens has an 88° horizontal view. These are different fixed-lens versions, not an adjustable zoom. The 4mm version is marked ETA; its arrival date is not confirmed.

Do I need an NVR and a hard drive?
For central recording, add a compatible NVR and surveillance HDD. The C355 also has a microSD slot supporting cards up to 512GB for onboard recording. The camera is sold without an NVR, HDD or microSD card.
Q.03

Does full-colour night vision need visible light?
The C355 uses its white LEDs to illuminate a dark scene for colour footage. It also has infrared illumination for black-and-white night vision. Each lighting system is rated to 30m.
Q.04

Can I connect it to a different brand of recorder?
The C355 supports ONVIF Profile S for basic interoperability. Check the other recorder for 5MP stream support; two-way audio, analytics and event integration depend on the recorder and software. A VIGI recorder provides the matching system option.

Can I use True WDR and People & Vehicle Analytics together?
The camera supports 120dB WDR, but the manufacturer specifies that only digital WDR is available when People & Vehicle Analytics is enabled.
