Hikvision HiLook HA-ALARM-PIR2-AUS: 12m Dual-Tech Motion Detector with 30kg Pet Immunity

SKU: HA-ALARM-PIR2-AUS
Description

The HiLook HA-ALARM-PIR2-AUS is a wired indoor dual-technology motion detector — the high-accuracy sensor for an intruder alarm. It combines a passive infrared sensor with a 24 GHz microwave sensor, and both have to detect movement before it alarms, which sharply cuts the false alarms that catch single-technology detectors out. It covers up to 12 metres across 52 detection zones, is pet immune up to 30 kg, and uses selectable EOL resistors so it works with the HiLook AX Hybrid Pro panel and most other wired panels.

Key points
- Dual-technology: passive infrared plus 24 GHz microwave (both must trigger to alarm)
- Up to 12 m range, 85.9° field of view, 52 detection zones
- Pet immunity up to 30 kg — the highest in the HiLook wired range
- 3D Fresnel optics, digital temperature compensation, creep-zone protection, front tamper
- Normally-closed alarm output; selectable EOL resistors for most wired panels
- Wired on 9–16 VDC; wall or ceiling mount 1.8–2.4 m; requires a control panel; 3-year warranty

§ 01Overview

What the HA-ALARM-PIR2-AUS is

The HiLook HA-ALARM-PIR2-AUS is a wired indoor dual-technology motion detector — the detector to choose when false alarms have been a problem, or when the home has larger pets. Instead of relying on infrared alone, it pairs a passive infrared sensor with a 24 GHz microwave sensor, and both must detect movement at the same time before it signals the panel to alarm. That dual-trigger design filters out the heat shimmer, draughts and sunlight that can fool a single-technology detector.

It covers up to 12 metres across an 85.9° field of view and 52 detection zones, with a 3D Fresnel lens for precise coverage and creep-zone protection beneath the unit. Pet immunity up to 30 kg — the highest in the HiLook wired range — means even larger dogs are far less likely to trip it. Digital temperature compensation keeps it accurate across the seasons, sealed optics keep insects out, and front tamper protection alerts you if the cover is opened or the unit is interfered with. It has a normally-closed alarm output, clear status LEDs (green for PIR, orange for microwave, blue for alarm), and runs on 9–16 VDC with reverse-polarity protection.

Two honest notes. Its 12 metre range is shorter than the single-tech HA-ALARM-PIR1's 18 metres — that is the trade dual-technology makes for accuracy, so choose the PIR1 if reach matters most and the PIR2 if low false alarms and larger pets matter most. And selectable EOL resistors mean it is not locked to HiLook; it works with the HiLook AX Hybrid Pro panel and most other wired panels. This is genuine HiLook (a Hikvision sub-brand) stock with a local 3-year warranty and support.

§ 04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the HA-ALARM-PIR2-AUS

Far fewer false alarms

PIR plus 24GHz microwave both have to trigger, filtering out the heat and draughts that fool single-tech detectors.

Best for larger pets

30kg pet immunity, the highest in the HiLook wired range, suits homes with bigger dogs.

Precise coverage

A 3D Fresnel lens with 52 zones and creep-zone protection covers the room thoroughly.

Reliable and protected

Digital temperature compensation, sealed optics and front tamper keep it accurate and secure.

§ 05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Rooms prone to false alarms

Use dual-tech detection where sunlight, draughts or heating have tripped a single-tech sensor.

Homes with large dogs

Protect living areas with 30kg pet immunity so big pets do not set the alarm off.

Higher-security areas

Cover entries and valuables rooms where reliable, accurate detection matters most.

New AX Hybrid Pro systems

Fit it as the accurate room detector for a new HiLook HA-ALARM-KIT1 wired alarm.

§ 06Setup

Installation & setup

01

What's in the box

One HA-ALARM-PIR2 wired dual-tech detector with mounting hardware and a guide. A compatible wired alarm panel and cabling are required and supplied separately.

02

Installation requirements

Mount it on a wall or ceiling at 1.8 to 2.4 metres to cover the room, run the cable back to a detector zone on your panel, and set the EOL resistor value to match. Walk-test using the status LEDs to confirm both sensors and the zone alarm before relying on it. Wired alarm work is best carried out by a licensed installer.

§ 07Questions

Frequently asked about the HA-ALARM-PIR2-AUS

Q.01

Why does a dual-technology detector have fewer false alarms?

Because it uses two different sensors, a passive infrared and a 24GHz microwave, and both have to detect movement at the same moment before it alarms. Heat shimmer or a draught might fool one sensor, but rarely both, so genuine intrusions are caught while false triggers are filtered out.
Q.02

Is it good for homes with pets?

Yes. It has pet immunity up to 30 kg, the highest in the HiLook wired range, so even larger dogs are far less likely to trigger it. If your pets are under 10 kg, the simpler HA-ALARM-PIR1 also works and reaches further.
Q.03

Why is the range only 12m when the PIR1 reaches 18m?

The dual-technology design trades a little range for accuracy. The 12 metre coverage suits most rooms, and you gain far fewer false alarms plus 30 kg pet immunity. Choose the PIR1 if you need maximum reach, and the PIR2 if accuracy and larger pets matter more.
Q.04

Is it wired or wireless, and what panels does it work with?

It is a wired detector. Its selectable end-of-line resistor values let it work with most wired alarm panels, including the HiLook HA-ALARM-KIT1 AX Hybrid Pro panel. Set the resistor value to match your panel when you wire it in.
Q.05

Does it have tamper protection?

Yes. It has front tamper protection that alerts the panel if the cover is opened or the unit is interfered with. It also has status LEDs, green for the infrared sensor, orange for the microwave and blue for an alarm, which help when you are walk-testing coverage.
Q.06

How should it be mounted?

On a wall or ceiling at a height of 1.8 to 2.4 metres, positioned to cover the movement paths through the room. Its 52 detection zones and creep-zone protection give complete coverage of the protected area when mounted correctly.
Q.07

Does it need a control panel to work?

Yes. It is a detector, not a standalone alarm, so it signals a wired control panel that decides the response. For a new system, start with a panel such as the HiLook HA-ALARM-KIT1, then add this detector along with a keypad and an external siren.

§ 09Bundles

Recommended packages

01

Start with a panel

If you are building a new system, the HA-ALARM-KIT1 alarm kit gives you the AX Hybrid Pro control panel and a starter set this detector wires into.

02

Need longer range instead

For rooms that need more reach with smaller pets, the HA-ALARM-PIR1 single-tech detector covers 18m with 10kg pet immunity.

04

Mounting accessory

Use the HA-ALARM-BKT bracket where a detector needs to be angled or repositioned.
