§ 01Overview

What the DS-9664NI-M16 is

The Hikvision DS-9664NI-M16 is a 64-channel 8K network video recorder for large-scale Australian sites that have outgrown a 16 or 32-channel unit.

It connects up to 64 IP cameras with 400 Mbps of incoming bandwidth, records resolutions up to 32MP, and protects footage across sixteen SATA bays running RAID 0, 1, 5, 6 or 10 with N+M hot spare.

Dual HDMI and dual VGA outputs drive separate monitors, with 8K available on HDMI 1.

This is a back-end recorder with no built-in PoE, so cameras are powered from separate network switches.

It is supplied without hard drives, leaving you free to match storage to your camera count and retention period.

§ 02Engineering

FeatureDetail

§ 04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the DS-9664NI-M16

Built for 64 cameras

One recorder takes the place of several smaller NVRs on large sites. With 400 Mbps incoming bandwidth, it handles a full load of 4K and multi-megapixel cameras without dropping streams.

RAID data protection

Sixteen SATA bays let you run RAID 5 or 6 so a single drive failure will not lose footage. N+M hot spare keeps a standby drive ready to rebuild the array automatically.

Flexible 8K monitoring

Dual HDMI and dual VGA outputs feed up to four separate displays. HDMI 1 reaches 8K so a single screen can show a dense camera wall in fine detail.

Supplied without drives

You choose surveillance-rated drives sized to your retention target, rather than paying for storage you do not need or cannot expand.

§ 05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Warehouses and logistics

Cover loading docks, racking aisles and yards across one site with dozens of cameras feeding a single recorder.

Body corporate and apartments

Centralise lobby, car park, lift and perimeter cameras for a large strata complex with room to grow.

Schools and campuses

Record entrances, corridors, halls and grounds across multiple buildings from one rack-mounted unit.

Industrial and council sites

Pair with ANPR, people-counting and fisheye cameras for gate control, occupancy and wide-area coverage on infrastructure projects.

§ 06Setup

Installation & setup

01

In the box

DS-9664NI-M16 recorder, power cable, mouse and rack-mount hardware. Hard drives are not included and must be bought separately.

02

Storage setup

Fit up to sixteen surveillance-rated SATA drives (up to 16TB each), then configure RAID 0/1/5/6/10 or N+M hot spare in the menu before recording.

03

Powering cameras

This recorder has no built-in PoE. Run cameras from separate PoE switches sized to your camera count, then add them to the NVR over the network.

04

Mounting and power

Install in a 3U rack space with airflow front and rear, and connect to a 100-240 VAC outlet on the equipment-room circuit.

No. It is supplied with no hard drives. You add up to sixteen surveillance-rated SATA drives, each up to 16TB.
Q.02

Does this NVR have built-in PoE ports?

No. It is a back-end recorder, so cameras are powered from separate PoE switches and added over the network.
Q.03

How many cameras can it record?

Up to 64 IP cameras, with 400 Mbps of incoming bandwidth for a full load of multi-megapixel cameras.
