The Hikvision DS-2CD2787G2HT is an 8 MP Smart Hybrid Light ColorVu dome on a motorised 2.8-12 mm varifocal lens, pairing true 4K resolution with flexible framing. You can set a wide overview or zoom in on a gate remotely from the app, and the 1/1.8" sensor with an F1.2 ColorVu aperture delivers vivid colour, while 130 dB WDR keeps detail when a bright sky sits behind a shaded entry.

At night the dual light gives you the best of both approaches. The camera stays in discreet infrared by default and switches on white light for full-colour footage up to 40 m when AcuSense detects a person or vehicle. Because the white light only fires on a real detection, you capture colour and faces when it matters without lighting up the whole site all night. AcuSense deep-learning analytics classify human and vehicle targets, so motion and perimeter alarms ignore animals, rain and moving foliage.

The metal dome is rated IP67 against dust and rain and IK10 against impact, which suits exposed walls and public areas. Power and network it over one PoE cable, or use 12 VDC, and record it to a Hikvision AcuSense NVR so the human and vehicle events stay searchable, with microSD storage up to 512 GB as a backup. Note this model does not have a built-in microphone, so it is a video-focused camera rather than one for audio.

What's in the box

One DS-2CD2787G2HT motorised varifocal dome camera with a mounting template, fixings and a quick guide. The PoE switch or NVR, network cable, microSD card and any junction box are supplied separately.

Installation requirements

Mount it on a wall or eave overlooking the area and run one network cable back to a PoE switch or NVR with enough power budget, or use 12 VDC. Set the zoom, focus, lighting and AcuSense rules in the software, and add it to a Hikvision AcuSense NVR for recording and event search.
