01Overview

What the KIT-8XDS-2CD2186G2H-ISU-DS-7608NI-M2-8P-NOHDD is

This Hikvision 8 MP 8-channel kit is an eight-camera system built for tougher, public-facing locations. It combines eight DS-2CD2186G2H-ISU AcuSense dome cameras, an eight-channel DS-7608NI-M2/8P PoE NVR, so each camera connects on a single network cable.

The dome shape is the point of difference. Each camera is an 8 MP (4K) dome rated IP67 against dust and water and IK10 against impact, so the low-profile metal housing stands up to knocks and tampering in places like entrances, stairwells, shops and car parks. AcuSense deep learning classifies human and vehicle targets so alerts and searches ignore rain, shadows and animals, 120 dB wide dynamic range balances harsh backlight, and Powered-by-DarkFighter imaging keeps detail in low light. These are -I model cameras with no built-in microphone, so the kit records high-quality video without audio.

A couple of honest notes so it is set up well. At night these are infrared cameras with a 30 metre range, so the picture is black and white, not full colour; this is not a ColorVu kit. The compact dome housing resists tampering and is discreet indoors and out. H.265+ compression keeps storage efficient, and storage capacity can be chosen to suit your recording needs.

8MP Ultra HD

8MP (4K) resolution captures four times the detail of 1080p.
Even when a person or car is far down the driveway, you can zoom in and still recognise a face or read a number plate — detail that lower-resolution cameras lose.

30m IR Night Vision

Built-in infrared lets the camera see in complete darkness up to around 30m — enough for a typical driveway, front yard or entrance. People and vehicles stay clear in black-and-white, brighter the closer they are.

False Alarm Reduction

Filtering helps separate real activity from harmless movement like rain, leaves or pets, so you get fewer pointless notifications and the alerts that matter stand out.

Human/Vehicle Detection

Smart detection focuses on people and vehicles and can ignore things like swaying branches, rain or small animals — helping cut down false alerts and making the right moments easier to find.

04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the KIT-8XDS-2CD2186G2H-ISU-DS-7608NI-M2-8P-NOHDD

Built to take a hit

IP67 weatherproof and IK10 vandal-resistant metal domes withstand knocks and tampering in public, reachable positions.

4K detail with fewer false alarms

8 MP resolution and AcuSense human and vehicle classification keep evidence sharp and alerts focused on real threats.

Discreet and tidy

The low-profile dome shape is unobtrusive on ceilings and walls indoors and out, and harder to knock off aim.

Eight-camera PoE system

Eight cameras pair with an eight-channel PoE NVR, using one network cable per camera for power and video.

05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Shops and retail

Tamper-resistant ceiling coverage of aisles, tills and entrances with 4K detail.

Entrances and stairwells

Discreet domes in reachable public spots where a vandal rating matters.

Car parks and common areas

Wide, impact-resistant coverage of bays, lobbies and walkways.

Schools and offices

Tidy, hard-to-tamper cameras for corridors, foyers and shared spaces.

06Setup

Installation & setup

  1. In the box

Eight DS-2CD2186G2H-ISU dome cameras, the DS-7608NI-M2/8P NVR, power supply and mounting accessories. Connect a monitor for local viewing.

  2. Cabling

Run one network cable from each camera to a PoE port on the NVR. Standard Ethernet runs apply, and a PoE switch can extend reach for distant cameras.

  3. Mounting

Fix each dome to a ceiling or wall covering the area you want watched, within the 30 metre infrared range, and adjust the lens angle inside the housing.

  4. Setup

Connect the NVR to a screen and the network, add the cameras on the plug-and-play PoE ports, set the AcuSense human and vehicle rules and recording schedule, and set up remote viewing in the Hik-Connect app.

08Questions

Frequently asked about the KIT-8XDS-2CD2186G2H-ISU-DS-7608NI-M2-8P-NOHDD

Q.01

What cameras and recorder are included?
The kit includes 8 DS-2CD2186G2H-ISU AcuSense cameras and one DS-7608NI-M2/8P eight-channel PoE NVR. Each camera connects to the NVR with one Ethernet cable for power and video.
Q.02

What does the IK10 vandal rating mean for me?
IK10 is the highest common impact-resistance rating, so the dome housing is built to withstand knocks, kicks and tampering. Combined with the IP67 weather rating, it makes these cameras a good choice for public and reachable spots such as entrances, stairwells, shops and car parks where a camera could be hit.
Q.03

Why choose dome cameras over bullets or turrets?
Domes have a low-profile, tamper-resistant housing that is discreet and hard to grab or knock off aim, which suits indoor ceilings and public areas. Bullets suit long outdoor throws and turrets are easy to aim, so the dome kit is best where vandal resistance and a tidy look matter most.
Q.04

Do the cameras show colour at night?
No. They use Powered-by-DarkFighter low-light imaging for clean detail, but at night they rely on 30 metre infrared, so the image is black and white. For full-colour night footage you would choose a ColorVu kit with white-light cameras.
Q.05

What does AcuSense do?
AcuSense uses on-camera deep learning to classify human and vehicle targets and ignore other movement such as rain, leaves or animals. The system alerts you to what matters, cuts false alarms, and lets you search recordings by human or vehicle events.
Q.06

Is the kit full, or can I add more cameras?
The recorder is an eight-channel NVR and the kit uses all eight channels, so it is complete as supplied. To add more cameras you would step up to a larger recorder, such as a 16-channel NVR, and use a PoE switch for the extra ports.
