01Overview

What the DS-2CD3H87G3-LIZSUY/SL is

This Hikvision 8MP 8-channel kit is a four-camera turret system built around motorised zoom lenses, supplied ready to record. It pairs four DS-2CD3H87G3-LIZSUY/SL AcuSense turret cameras with an eight-channel DS-7608NI-M2/8P PoE NVR and a 4TB surveillance hard drive already fitted, so each camera connects on a single network cable and the recorder captures all four channels. Because the recorder has eight channels and the kit uses four, there are four spare channels to add cameras as the property grows.

The motorised lenses set this kit apart. Each camera has a 2.8-12mm motorised varifocal lens, so you adjust the zoom and focus remotely in software rather than on a ladder, dialling each camera between a wide room view and a tight shot on a gate, doorway or driveway. They are 8MP (4K) for fine detail, use DarkFighterS low-light imaging for cleaner pictures in dim light, and AcuSense deep learning classifies human and vehicle targets so alerts and searches ignore rain, shadows and animals, with a 120dB wide dynamic range against bright backlight. The metal housing is IP66 weatherproof and IK10 vandal-resistant for exposed, accessible positions.

A couple of honest notes so it is set up correctly. At night these are infrared cameras with Smart Hybrid Light reaching up to 60 metres, so the picture is black and white, not full colour; DarkFighterS improves low-light quality but this is not a white-light ColorVu kit. The cameras provide audio and alarm input and output for connecting an external microphone or alarm devices; they are not supplied as a two-way intercom. The 4TB drive is included as standard, the recorder has dual hard-drive bays, and a second or larger drive can be fitted for longer retention.

8MP Ultra HD

8MP (4K) resolution captures four times the detail of 1080p.
Even when a person or car is far down the driveway, you can zoom in and still recognise a face or read a number plate — detail that lower-resolution cameras lose.

Human/Vehicle Detection

Smart detection focuses on people and vehicles and can ignore things like swaying branches, rain or small animals — helping cut down false alerts and making the right moments easier to find.

04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the DS-2CD3H87G3-LIZSUY/SL

Frame each shot remotely

The 2.8-12 mm motorised lenses let you set zoom and focus in software, so you frame each gate, driveway or entry precisely without going back up to the camera.

4K detail, ready to record

Four 8 MP turrets, an eight-channel PoE NVR and a fitted 4 TB drive arrive set up, so a single cable per camera gets the system running.

Lots of room to grow

Four spare channels and dual drive bays leave plenty of space to add cameras and storage as the property grows.

Built for exposed spots

IP66 weatherproof and IK10 vandal-resistant metal turrets handle outdoor walls, eaves and accessible positions.

05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Driveways and gates

Use the motorised zoom to frame a long driveway or a specific gate tightly for clear detail at the point that matters.

Larger properties

Start with four adjustable turrets and use the four spare channels to add cameras across a bigger home or site.

Business premises

Frame entries, car parks and loading areas precisely, with human and vehicle alerts and 4K evidence.

Tricky fields of view

Where the right lens angle is hard to judge before install, set it remotely after mounting and fine-tune over time.

06Setup

Installation & setup

  1. In the box

Four DS-2CD3H87G3-LIZSUY/SL turret cameras, the DS-7608NI-M2/8P NVR with a 4 TB drive fitted, power supply and mounting accessories. Connect a monitor for local viewing.

  2. Cabling

Run one network cable from each camera to a PoE port on the NVR. Standard Ethernet runs apply, and a PoE switch can extend reach or add ports for the spare channels.

  3. Mounting

Fix each turret to a wall, eave or ceiling aimed over the area you want covered, within the roughly 60 metre infrared range, then set the rough angle by hand.

  4. Setup

Connect the NVR to a screen and the network, add the cameras on the plug-and-play PoE ports, use the software to set each camera's zoom and focus, then set the AcuSense rules, recording schedule and remote viewing in the Hik-Connect app.

08Questions

Frequently asked about the DS-2CD3H87G3-LIZSUY/SL

Q.01

What does the motorised varifocal lens do for me?
Each camera has a 2.8-12 mm motorised lens, so you set the zoom and focus remotely in software instead of adjusting the lens by hand on a ladder. That lets you dial each camera between a wide view of a yard or room and a tighter shot on a gate, doorway or driveway, and fine-tune it later without going back up to the camera.
Q.02

Is the kit ready to record out of the box?
Yes. It includes the four 8 MP motorised turret cameras, the eight-channel DS-7608NI-M2/8P PoE NVR and a 4 TB surveillance hard drive already fitted, so each camera connects on one network cable and the recorder captures all four channels. Add a screen or use the Hik-Connect app to view live and recorded footage.
Q.03

Does this kit include a hard drive?
Yes. A 4 TB surveillance-grade hard drive is included and fitted, so the system records on arrival. The recorder has a second drive bay, so you can add another drive later for longer retention as you fill the spare channels with more cameras.
Q.04

Can I add more cameras later?
Yes. The recorder is an eight-channel NVR and the kit uses four channels, so there are four spare PoE ports and channels for more cameras. That gives plenty of room to grow before you would need to step up to a sixteen-channel recorder.
Q.05

Do these cameras film in colour at night?
Not in the dark. They use DarkFighterS low-light imaging for cleaner pictures in dim light, but at night they switch to Smart Hybrid Light reaching up to 60 metres, so the image is black and white. For full-colour footage all night you would choose a ColorVu kit with white-light cameras.
Q.06

Do the cameras have audio?
These turrets provide audio and alarm input and output, so you can connect an external microphone or alarm devices to a camera, but they are not supplied as a built-in two-way intercom. If recording sound matters, add a line-in microphone, and confirm that recording audio is permitted for your site.
Q.07

What does AcuSense do for me?
AcuSense uses on-camera deep learning to classify human and vehicle targets and ignore other movement such as rain, leaves or animals. The system alerts you to what matters, cuts false alarms, and lets you search recordings by human or vehicle events instead of scrubbing through hours of footage.
Q.08

Where do these cameras suit best?
The motorised zoom makes them a good fit where you want to frame a specific area precisely, such as a driveway, gate, entry or car park, or where the right field of view is hard to judge before install. The IP66 and IK10 ratings suit exposed, accessible mounting, and the four spare channels leave room to add fixed-lens cameras elsewhere.
