Hikvision DS-PM1-I16O2-WB AX PRO Wireless 16-Input & 2-Output Expander

SKU: DS-PM1-I16O2-WB
Description

The Hikvision DS-PM1-I16O2-WB is an AX PRO wireless multi-I/O expander that lets you keep existing wired detectors when you move to a Hikvision AX PRO wireless alarm. It connects up to sixteen hardwired inputs and two outputs and reports them back to the wireless hub over Tri-X radio - so legacy cabling and sensors stay in use instead of being replaced.

At a glance
- Integrates up to 16 wired alarm inputs and 2 outputs into an AX PRO wireless system
- Tri-X two-way 433MHz radio to the hub, up to 800m open-air, AES-128 secured
- Each zone independently set to NO/NC, EOL or DEOL for professional wired sensors
- Mains powered 100-240 VAC, takes a 12V 7Ah backup battery for up to 36 hours
- For AX PRO wireless hubs - not for the DS-PHA64 hardwired panel

§ 01Overview

What the DS-PM1-I16O2-WB is

The Hikvision DS-PM1-I16O2-WB is a high-capacity wireless multi-I/O expander for the AX PRO wireless alarm platform. Its job is to bridge wired devices into a wireless system: it provides sixteen supervised wired inputs and two programmable outputs, then communicates with the AX PRO hub over Tri-X two-way radio, so an installer can retain existing wired contacts and detectors instead of ripping them out during an upgrade.

Each of the sixteen zone inputs is configured independently for NO/NC, single end-of-line (EOL) or double end-of-line (DEOL) wiring, which makes it compatible with professional-grade wired sensors. The two outputs give flexible control for compatible alarm functions, and the unit reports tamper, fault and signal status back to the hub. The Tri-X link runs on 433MHz with two-way communication and AES-128 encryption, reaching up to 800m in open space, and enrolment completes when the indicator flashes green seven times.

It is mains powered from a 100-240 VAC supply and accepts a 12V 7Ah lead-acid backup battery (ordered separately) for up to 36 hours of standby, with the battery housed inside the plastic wall-mount enclosure. Importantly, this is an AX PRO wireless device: it pairs with a Hikvision AX PRO wireless hub such as the DS-PWA96-M-WB and is not designed for the DS-PHA64 AX Hybrid Pro hardwired panel. It suits retrofit projects, multi-zone reuse and sites where several wired inputs need to join one wireless hub.

DS-PM1-I16O2-WB specifications

- Integrates up to 16 supervised wired alarm inputs and 2 outputs into an AX PRO wireless alarm system.

- Tri-X two-way 433MHz radio links the expander to the hub at up to 800m open-air with AES-128 encryption.

- Each zone input is independently set to NO/NC, EOL or DEOL to suit professional-grade wired detectors.

- Lets installers retain existing wired contacts and detectors during a move to AX PRO wireless, reducing rewiring.

- Mains powered 100-240 VAC with a 12V 7Ah backup battery (separate) for up to 36 hours of standby.

- Front and rear tamper plus power, fault and signal-strength indicators report status back to the hub.

- Plastic wall-mount enclosure for AX PRO wireless hubs - it is not for the DS-PHA64 hardwired panel.

§ 04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the DS-PM1-I16O2-WB

Keep your wired sensors

Bring up to 16 existing wired detectors and contacts into an AX PRO wireless alarm instead of replacing them.

Flexible, supervised zones

Per-zone NO/NC, EOL or DEOL wiring suits professional sensors with supervised, tamper-aware connections.

Secure long-range radio

Tri-X two-way 433MHz to 800m with AES-128 keeps the link to the hub reliable and encrypted.

Mains power with backup

A 100-240 VAC supply and 12V 7Ah battery option give up to 36 hours of standby protection.

§ 05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Wired-to-wireless upgrades

Retain working wired detectors and contacts when modernising a site to an AX PRO wireless hub.

Multi-zone reuse

Connect several existing wired zones in one location through a single expander rather than many transmitters.

Retail and office retrofits

Reuse installed wired door, window and PIR wiring on a compatible AX PRO wireless system.

Warehouses and larger sites

Add many wired inputs to one wireless hub where running fresh cable back to a panel is impractical.

§ 06Setup

Installation & setup

01

Confirm the hub

Check you are using an AX PRO wireless hub such as the DS-PWA96-M-WB - this expander is not for the DS-PHA64 hardwired panel.

02

Mount and power

Fix the enclosure indoors near the wiring, connect the 100-240 VAC supply and fit a 12V 7Ah backup battery if required.

03

Wire and set the zones

Land the wired inputs on Z1-Z16 and set each zone to NO/NC, EOL or DEOL; wire the two outputs as needed.

04

Enrol and test

Enrol to the hub (indicator flashes green seven times), confirm signal strength is strong, then walk-test every wired zone.

§ 07Questions

Frequently asked about the DS-PM1-I16O2-WB

Q.01

What does the DS-PM1-I16O2-WB actually do?

It is an AX PRO wireless expander that brings wired devices into a wireless alarm. It provides 16 wired inputs and 2 outputs, then reports them to the AX PRO hub over Tri-X radio, so existing wired detectors and contacts can be kept when upgrading to AX PRO wireless.
Q.02

Does it work with the DS-PHA64 AX Hybrid Pro panel?

No. This is an AX PRO wireless device that pairs with an AX PRO wireless hub such as the DS-PWA96-M-WB. It is not designed for the DS-PHA64 AX Hybrid Pro hardwired panel, which uses its own wired expanders.
Q.03

How many wired inputs and outputs does it have?

It supports up to 16 supervised wired inputs and 2 outputs from one module, which is far more practical than fitting many single-input transmitters when several wired zones share a location.
Q.04

How are the zones wired?

Each of the 16 zone inputs is set independently to NO/NC, single EOL or double EOL. That flexibility lets it work with a wide range of professional wired detectors and supervised wiring methods.
Q.05

How does it power and is there battery backup?

It is mains powered from a 100-240 VAC supply and accepts a 12V 7Ah lead-acid backup battery, ordered separately, which gives up to 36 hours of standby if mains power is lost.
Q.06

How does it talk to the hub?

It uses Tri-X two-way 433MHz wireless with AES-128 encryption, reaching up to 800m in open space. Enrolment to the hub completes when the indicator flashes green seven times.
Q.07

Is this better than using individual wireless transmitters?

For one wired input a single transmitter may be simpler. Where several wired inputs share one spot - a riser, plant room or old panel location - this expander is tidier and cheaper than many single transmitters because it handles up to 16 inputs at once.
Q.08

Where should it be installed?

Mount it in a protected indoor location near the existing wiring or old panel terminations, where cabling is tidy and the wireless signal to the hub is strong. Confirm signal strength before fixing it permanently.
