§ 01Overview

What the DHI-NVR5864-AI/ANZ is

The Dahua DHI-NVR5864-AI/ANZ is an enterprise-class 64-channel WizSense AI recorder in a 2U chassis, built for large Australian commercial, industrial and public-safety installations. It accepts up to 64 IP cameras (over the network, not built-in PoE) at resolutions up to 32MP, with up to 384 Mbps of bandwidth when AI is off and 200 Mbps with AI features running.

Eight SATA HDD bays with RAID 0/1/5/6/10 give you both high capacity and the redundancy a critical site needs, so a single drive failure does not cost you footage. The recorder runs Dahua's WizSense AI on board: face detection and recognition, perimeter protection (tripwire and intrusion) and SMD Plus to separate people and vehicles from irrelevant motion, plus AcuPick / Quick Pick smart search that lets an operator find a person or vehicle across recordings quickly when used with compatible WizSense cameras. It carries ANZ firmware for local compliance, outputs to dual HDMI and dual VGA for a multi-screen control room, and supports third-party cameras over ONVIF.

Note that this is an enterprise recorder supplied without hard drives and without built-in PoE — cameras connect through your network switches, and you add surveillance drives to suit your retention and RAID plan.

§ 04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the DHI-NVR5864-AI/ANZ

Enterprise capacity and redundancy

Eight HDD bays with RAID 0/1/5/6/10 give large total storage and protect footage against a single drive failure on critical sites.

Serious channel count and bandwidth

64 channels and up to 384 Mbps handle a large camera estate, with support for high-resolution cameras up to 32MP.

AI that speeds investigations

Face recognition, perimeter protection, SMD Plus and AcuPick smart search help operators find events and targets fast instead of scrubbing hours of video.

Built for control rooms

Dual HDMI and dual VGA with 4K display and ANZ firmware suit a manned monitoring position on a commercial or public-safety site.

§ 05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Large commercial and industrial sites

Centralise dozens of cameras across a factory, warehouse or campus on one redundant recorder.

Public safety and government

Run face and perimeter analytics with RAID-protected storage for sites that need reliable retention and fast search.

Multi-building campuses

Aggregate cameras from many switches and buildings into a single 64-channel control-room recorder.

High-retention installations

Fill eight bays with high-capacity drives for long retention under a RAID 5 or 6 plan.

§ 06Setup

Installation & setup

01

What's in the box

One DHI-NVR5864-AI/ANZ 2U recorder, power lead and mouse. Hard drives, network switches, cameras and monitors are not included.

02

Installation requirements

Rack the 2U chassis, fit surveillance-grade SATA drives and configure your RAID level, then connect cameras through managed PoE switches on the network (the recorder has no built-in PoE). Connect monitors over HDMI/VGA and the network for remote access, and plan camera bitrates against the AI-on bandwidth limit. A UPS is strongly recommended on an enterprise recorder. Professional installation and commissioning are recommended.

§ 08Questions

Frequently asked about the DHI-NVR5864-AI/ANZ

Q.01

Does this NVR come with hard drives?

No. It is an enterprise recorder supplied without drives so you can plan capacity and RAID to suit the site. It has eight SATA bays, each taking a high-capacity surveillance drive, for very large total storage.
Q.02

Does it have built-in PoE ports?

No. Unlike smaller all-in-one NVRs, the NVR5864 has no built-in PoE. Cameras connect through your own network switches, which is normal for a 64-channel enterprise system where cameras are spread across a managed network.
Q.03

What RAID levels does it support?

It supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6 and 10 across its eight bays, so you can balance capacity, performance and redundancy. RAID 5 or 6 is common on critical sites so that footage survives a drive failure.
Q.04

How many cameras and what resolution can it handle?

It records up to 64 IP channels at resolutions up to 32MP, with up to 384 Mbps of bandwidth when AI is off. Enabling AI features reduces usable bandwidth to around 200 Mbps, so plan camera count and bitrates against the mode you will run.
Q.05

What AI features does the recorder provide?

On board it offers face detection and recognition, perimeter protection (tripwire and intrusion) and SMD Plus to filter people and vehicles from other motion. With compatible WizSense cameras it adds AcuPick / Quick Pick smart search, plus camera-side analytics such as ANPR, people counting and metadata.
Q.06

What is AcuPick and do I need special cameras?

AcuPick (and the related Quick Pick) is a fast smart-search tool that lets an operator pick a target and find matching people or vehicles across recorded footage in seconds. It works with compatible Dahua WizSense cameras, so check your cameras support it to use that feature.
Q.07

How many monitors can it drive?

It has dual HDMI and dual VGA outputs with 4K display support, so you can run a multi-screen layout in a control room rather than a single monitor.
Q.08

Is this the Australian model?

Yes. The /ANZ suffix indicates Australia/New Zealand firmware, and it is supplied as genuine Australian Dahua stock with local warranty and support.

Buying from Smarket

Is your Hikvision, Dahua, HiLook and TP-Link VIGI stock genuine Australian stock?

Yes, 100%. Every Hikvision, Dahua, HiLook and TP-Link VIGI product we sell is a genuine Australian-market model sourced through Australian supply chains — never grey imports. That means factory-sealed units, Australian-region firmware that works with the official apps out of the box, and a full 3-year local warranty.

How long does delivery take?

How much is shipping?

Standard shipping is free on all orders over $300 AUD, Australia-wide. Orders under $300 ship at a flat rate of $25, calculated at checkout. Tracking is included on every order.

What warranty do you offer?

All cameras, NVRs and DVRs come with a 3-year back-to-base manufacturer warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. Hard drives and accessories are covered as set out in our Warranty Policy.

What is your return policy?

You have 30 days from the day you receive your order to request a change-of-mind return. Items must be unopened, factory-sealed and in resalable condition. A 15% restocking fee applies and return postage is at your cost. Faulty or incorrectly supplied items are different: we cover the return shipping and refund or replace at no charge. Read the full Return & Refund Policy.

Do you offer installation?

We can connect you with licensed installers in Sydney and Melbourne. Installation typically starts from around $200 per camera depending on cable runs and site conditions. Email sales@smarket.com.au with your address and camera count for a quote.
