§ 01Overview

What the QNO-C9083R is

The Hanwha QNO-C9083R is an 8MP 4K AI IR bullet with a motorized 3.2x varifocal lens engineered for long-range outdoor coverage.

A 1/2.8-inch CMOS sensor pairs with a 3.2-10.2mm F1.6-3.1 lens covering a 104°-31° horizontal / 55°-17° vertical / 124°-35° diagonal field of view, delivering 3840×2160 at 30fps in H.265.

NPU-based Object detection classifies persons and vehicles (car, bus, truck, motorcycle, bicycle), packages triggers as DetectionShot thumbnails, and drives Business Intelligence functions including people counting, queue management, heatmap, and vehicle counting.

120dB WDR with WiseNR II (AI) plus 30m 850nm IR at 0.006 lux B/W sensitivity keep coverage stable across daylight and darkness.

The aluminium housing is IP66, IK10, and NEMA 250 type 4X rated across -30°C to +55°C, edge storage runs to 256GB microSD (or 1TB with OnCloud-certified cards), and the camera consumes a maximum 12W (typical 5.3W) over IEEE 802.3af Class 3 PoE.

§ 04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the QNO-C9083R

4K Resolution Where Detail Matters at Distance

The 8MP sensor delivers more usable pixels per scene than a 5MP alternative — critical when digitally zooming into a plate, face, or object well beyond the physical camera position.

Genuine Long-Throw Performance

Tele-end DORI Recognize at 55.4m and Identify at 27.7m turn this bullet into a real perimeter tool for fence lines, boundary roads, and entry approaches where 4K detail at range is the requirement.

AI Analytics With Business Intelligence Bundled

Person / vehicle classification plus native people counting, queue management, heatmap, and vehicle counting run on-board — no separate analytics licence, no server-side re-processing.

NEMA 4X Grade Weather Sealing

IP66 and IK10 plus NEMA 250 type 4X puts the housing at a step above general-purpose outdoor cameras, suiting corrosive coastal, industrial, and agricultural mounts alongside standard commercial exteriors.

§ 05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Long-Range Industrial Perimeters

Tele DORI Identify at 27.7m and Recognize at 55.4m make this camera effective across long fence lines and boundary walls where a shorter-throw camera would leave identification gaps; NEMA 4X handles exposed industrial or coastal siting.

Vehicle Approach Roads and Gated Entries

4K detail at the tele end supports plate-region and driver-region legibility on long approaches, and AI vehicle type filtering separates cars, trucks, buses, motorcycles, and bicycles for downstream reporting.

Public Plazas and Open Retail Exteriors

The 104° wide framing at the wide end covers broad open scenes; 120dB WDR handles the contrast between sunlit exteriors and shaded frontages typical of AU retail sites and plaza mounts.

Sites Needing Traffic Analytics

Business Intelligence — people counting, queue management, heatmap, vehicle counting — runs on-board, giving facility teams operational metrics alongside security coverage without a separate analytics platform.

§ 06Setup

Installation & setup

01

PoE Class 3 — Plan for Max, Not Typical

Powered on IEEE 802.3af Class 3 PoE, typical 5.3W but maximum 12W. Because the varifocal motor spikes draw during adjustment, always plan for the maximum figure across shared PSE ports.

02

Mounting Interface

Aluminium bullet housing weighing 930g. Compatible with Single, Double, and 4" Octagon gang boxes for standard AU install kits.

03

First-Time Setup and Focus

Configure via the Hanwha Vision web interface after connecting to the network. Use the Simple focus function during first-time alignment; the Micro USB Type B port is preview / installation only and requires the WiFi dongle accessory.

04

Environmental Range

Operating -30°C to +55°C (start-up above -30°C required), storage -50°C to +60°C. Rated IP66, IK10, and NEMA 250 type 4X (indoor/outdoor, corrosion-resistant). Preserve ratings by sealing conduit and cable entry with weatherproof glands.

§ 08Questions

Frequently asked about the QNO-C9083R

Q.01

Q: What zoom range and field of view does the QNO-C9083R offer?

A: The camera uses a 3.2-10.2mm F1.6-3.1 motorized varifocal lens providing 3.2x optical zoom. Horizontal field of view spans 104° wide down to 31° tele, vertical 55°-17°, diagonal 124°-35°. Coverage width and detail concentration are adjustable in the camera interface after installation without physically returning to the mount.
Q.02

Q: What is the DORI reach at each end of the zoom range?

A: DORI per EN62676-4 at the wide end is Detect 60.0m, Observe 24.2m, Recognize 12.0m, Identify 6.0m. At the tele end it extends to Detect 276.9m, Observe 111.7m, Recognize 55.4m, Identify 27.7m. Tele coverage suits long driveways and boundary walls; wide coverage suits open forecourts and plaza mounts.
Q.03

Q: How does the C9083R differ from the C8083R in the same housing?

A: The C9083R uses an 8MP 4K sensor (3840×2160) while the C8083R is the lower-resolution sibling in the same physical shell; both share the same 3.2x motorized varifocal, IP66/IK10/NEMA 4X housing, 30m IR, and Class 3 PoE spec. Choose the C9083R where 4K resolution or extended DORI reach matters; choose the C8083R for lower storage cost per stream.
Q.04

Q: What is the night vision reach and low-light sensitivity?

A: 850nm IR LEDs illuminate to 30m (98.42ft). Minimum illumination is 0.06 lux in colour and 0.006 lux in B/W (measured at F1.6, 1/30 sec, 30 IRE). WiseNR II — Hanwha's AI-based noise reduction — combined with SSNR V keeps detail clean at low light without smearing.
Q.05

Q: What PoE budget does the camera need?

A: The QNO-C9083R runs on IEEE 802.3af Class 3 PoE with typical draw 5.3W and maximum draw 12W. Because the varifocal motor draws more power under adjustment than a fixed-lens camera, always size the switch or injector for the maximum figure.
Q.06

Q: What weather and impact ratings does the housing carry?

A: The aluminium housing carries IEC 60529 IP66, IEC 62262 IK10, and NEMA 250 type 4X ratings. NEMA 4X adds explicit corrosion-resistance suitability alongside standard outdoor water and dust protection, suiting coastal, industrial, and agricultural mounts.
Q.07

Q: How much edge storage does the microSD slot support?

A: Single Micro SD / SDHC / SDXC slot supports cards up to 256GB, or up to 1TB when using Hanwha Vision-branded microSD cards certified for OnCloud edge recording. Edge storage is intended as a failover buffer for NVR or network outages.
Q.08

Q: Which network protocols and ONVIF profiles are supported?

A: Ethernet is RJ-45 10/100BASE-T. Streaming supports up to 20 unicast users, up to 5 stream profiles, and multicast. ONVIF profiles S, G, T, and M are supported alongside SUNAPI (HTTP API), Hanwha Vision Open Platform, MQTT publication/subscription, and native Direct Cloud Connection.
