01Overview

What the QNV-8010R is

The Hanwha QNV-8010R is a 5MP H.265 IR vandal dome camera in the Wisenet Q Series, engineered for wide-scene indoor and outdoor coverage.

A 1/2.8-inch CMOS sensor pairs with a fixed 2.8mm F2.0 lens covering a 105° horizontal / 77° vertical / 136° diagonal field of view, and delivers 2592×1944 at 30fps under H.265, H.264, and MJPEG codecs with WiseStream II smart compression.

120dB WDR combined with SSNR noise reduction preserves detail through mixed daylight, while 850nm IR LEDs illuminate the scene to 20m at 0.015 lux B/W for overnight coverage.

The aluminium vandal dome housing is IP66 and IK10 rated across -30°C to +55°C, mounts on a 128GB Micro SD slot for edge recording, and draws a maximum 7.50W (typical 5.80W) over IEEE 802.3af Class 3 PoE.

ONVIF profiles S, G, and T plus SUNAPI keep integration straightforward.

04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the QNV-8010R

Wide Indoor and Outdoor Coverage

The 105° horizontal / 77° vertical field of view from a fixed 2.8mm lens frames wide indoor rooms and covered exterior mounts from a single ceiling or wall position, without needing multiple domes to fill blind zones.

Vandal-Rated Aluminium Housing

IK10 impact resistance and IP66 sealing on an aluminium dome body handle ball strikes, tampering attempts, and general knock-around exposure in schools, retail, and public-facing sites.

Cost-Sensitive H.265 Deployments

WiseStream II with H.265 shrinks bitrate on quiet scenes without dropping quality on active ones, protecting bandwidth on shared networks and long-term storage budgets across larger multi-camera systems.

Discreet Ceiling and Wall Fit

The dome form factor sits flush against a ceiling or wall soffit, less obtrusive than a bullet, and suits reception areas, hospitality venues, and retail interiors where the camera should blend rather than announce itself.

05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Retail Interiors and Reception Areas

The 105° field of view covers wide entrances, checkout areas, and reception counters from a single ceiling mount, with 120dB WDR keeping subject visibility across sunlit windows and shaded interiors.

School Corridors and Community Facilities

Vandal-rated IK10 aluminium dome housing suits gymnasium ceilings, corridor walls, and other spaces subject to occasional ball strikes or tampering.

Small Commercial Sites and Cafés

Compact ceiling profile with 20m IR fits the ceiling grid of small retail and hospitality venues, providing overnight coverage without visible lighting output.

Covered Outdoor Thresholds

IP66 sealing allows the QNV-8010R to be positioned at building entries, covered walkways, and canopied loading points where a fully exposed exterior mount is not required but water and dust protection matters.

06Setup

Installation & setup

  1. PoE Only — No 12V Option

Powered exclusively over IEEE 802.3af Class 3 PoE at 5.80W typical / 7.50W maximum. Any 802.3af-compliant switch or injector will support the camera; confirm total PoE budget when adding multiple cameras to a shared switch.

  2. Physical Housing

Compact 510g aluminium vandal dome. Suits standard AU ceiling and wall mount interfaces; use the mounting bracket supplied with the camera.

  3. First-Time Setup

Configure via the Hanwha Vision web interface after connecting to the network. Confirm image alignment during install; the 2.8mm lens is fixed and cannot be zoomed after mounting.

  4. Environmental Range

Operating -30°C to +55°C (start-up above -20°C required), storage -30°C to +60°C. Rated IP66 for dust and water jets and IK10 for impact. Preserve IP66 rating by sealing conduit and cable entry with weatherproof glands.

08Questions

Frequently asked about the QNV-8010R

Q.01

Q: What field of view should I plan for from a single QNV-8010R?
A: The fixed 2.8mm F2.0 lens provides a 105° horizontal, 77° vertical, and 136° diagonal field of view — a wide framing suited to open indoor rooms and general-purpose ceiling mounts.
Q.02

Q: How far does the night vision reach?
A: The 850nm IR LEDs illuminate to 20m (65.62ft), and minimum illumination is 0.15 lux in colour and 0.015 lux in B/W at 1/30 sec / 30 IRE. In near-total darkness the camera falls back to B/W with IR on.
Q.03

Q: What PoE budget does the camera consume?
A: The QNV-8010R draws typical 5.80W and maximum 7.50W over IEEE 802.3af Class 3 PoE. Any Class 3-compliant switch or injector will run the camera.
Q.04

Q: How much microSD storage is supported?
A: A single Micro SD / SDHC / SDXC slot supports cards up to 128GB. Edge recording is intended as a failover buffer for NVR or network outages.
Q.05

Q: Does this camera include AI object classification?
A: No. The QNV-8010R runs Normal analytics only — motion detection, tampering, defocus detection, and Virtual line / Virtual area rules. For on-device person and vehicle classification with colour attributes, see the AI-based Hanwha C-series.
Q.06

Q: Is the housing rated for direct outdoor exposure?
A: Yes. The aluminium vandal dome carries IEC 60529 IP66 (dust-tight, protected against water jets) and IEC 62262 IK10 (impact resistance) ratings. Seal all cable and conduit entries with weatherproof glands to preserve the IP66 rating.
Q.07

Q: What ONVIF and API options are supported for integration?
A: The camera implements ONVIF profiles S, G, and T alongside SUNAPI (HTTP API) and Hanwha Vision Open Platform, with Ethernet on RJ-45 10/100BASE-T.
