01Overview

What the QND-8010R is

The Hanwha QND-8010R is a 5MP indoor dome camera from Hanwha's Wisenet Q series — the essential-features product line for cost-sensitive indoor commercial deployments.

A 2.8mm fixed wide-angle lens covers 105° horizontal, sufficient for a typical office, meeting room, corridor, or small retail area from a single ceiling mount.

IR LEDs reach 20m for after-hours coverage.

H.265, H.264 and MJPEG codecs with WiseStream II bandwidth optimisation and 120dB WDR handle backlit-window scenes; PoE (IEEE 802.3af, Class 3) power runs on any standard PoE switch port.

Analytics include motion detection, tampering, defocus detection, virtual area (intrusion/enter/exit) and virtual line crossing.

Hallway view mode (90°/270° rotation) fits corridor coverage.

Micro SD/SDHC/SDXC edge storage up to 128GB.

ONVIF Profile S/G/T support integrates with all major VMS including Milestone XProtect and Genetec Security Center.

04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the QND-8010R

Essential Features at Q-Series Price

Q series is Hanwha's essential-features range: H.265 + WDR + IR + edge storage + hallway view. Enough capability for standard indoor commercial coverage without paying for the AI classification and higher-tier analytics found in P series.

Standard PoE Runs the Camera

802.3af Class 3 PoE is enough — efficient power draw within the standard PoE budget. Any standard PoE switch port powers it; no PoE+ infrastructure upgrade needed, cheaper switches work.

Fixed Lens Simplifies Install

No motorized varifocal to align at commissioning; mount, cable, configure. Fewer components to fail years later. 105° horizontal covers a typical room from a single ceiling position.

VMS Platform Choice

ONVIF Profile S / G / T support means the camera integrates with any major VMS including Milestone XProtect, Genetec Security Center, and Hanwha's own Wisenet WAVE / SSM. No lock-in to a single vendor.

05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Office & Meeting Rooms

A single ceiling-mounted dome covers a typical office footprint — 105° captures the whole meeting room; hallway view rotates for narrow-shape rooms.

Retail Store Interior

Ceiling-mounted 5MP dome covers front-of-house floor space; motion detection and virtual line crossing rules cover after-hours intrusion events.

Corridors & Hallways

90°/270° rotation produces a portrait-format stream that matches corridor proportions — more efficient use of the 5MP sensor.

Bank Branches & Teller Areas

IK10 impact rating combined with 5MP resolution supports the physical-security and evidence-recording needs of banking branches.

School Classrooms

Ceiling-mounted dome in classrooms and corridors; the Q-series price point suits multi-classroom deployments where budget matters.

08Questions

Frequently asked about the QND-8010R

Q.01

How does this compare to the higher-tier P series?
Q series is the essential-features range: H.265, WDR, IR, motion/tampering/defocus detection, virtual line/area rules, and hallway view — enough for standard indoor commercial coverage. P series adds AI object classification (Person, Face, Vehicle, License plate), higher-resolution sensors, and more sophisticated analytics. Choose Q when the essential feature set is enough; choose P when AI-scoped rule triggering matters.
Q.02

What analytics events does the camera support?
Motion detection, tampering detection, defocus detection, virtual area (intrusion / enter / exit), and virtual line (crossing / direction). No AI object classification — those are P-series features.
Q.03

How many PoE cameras can I typically run on one switch?
This camera runs on PoE Class 3 (efficient power draw). A standard 24-port PoE switch with a normal PoE budget comfortably powers a full complement of these cameras depending on other loads on the switch.
Q.04

What VMS platforms integrate with this camera?
ONVIF Profile S / G / T — the camera integrates with all major VMS including Milestone XProtect, Genetec Security Center, and Hanwha's native Wisenet WAVE / SSM. SUNAPI (HTTP API) is documented for custom integrations.
Q.05

How does hallway view mode work?
Hallway view rotates the sensor orientation to produce a tall, narrow frame suited to long corridors, hallways and access passages — 90° or 270° rotation. Instead of wasting resolution on ceiling and floor in a standard 16:9 frame, it maximises coverage of the corridor's usable depth.
Q.06

Does the camera work with third-party NVRs?
Yes. ONVIF Profile S support drops the camera into any ONVIF-compatible NVR — Milestone, Genetec, and Hanwha's own recorders. Full plug-and-play integration is available with Hanwha's WAVE and SSM platforms.
Q.07

What's the maximum resolution and frame rate combination?
5MP (2592×1944) at up to 30fps in H.265/H.264. WDR active reduces this to lower frame rates for some settings; lower resolutions can run at higher frame rates.
