§ 01Overview

What the QNO-C8083R is

The Hanwha QNO-C8083R is a 5MP AI IR bullet with a motorized 3.2x varifocal lens tuned for outdoor directional monitoring at variable distances.

A 1/2.8-inch CMOS sensor pairs with a 3.2-10.2mm F1.6-3.1 lens covering a 95°-29° horizontal / 69°-21° vertical / 126°-36° diagonal field of view, delivering 2592×1944 at 30fps in H.265.

NPU-based Object detection classifies persons and vehicles (car, bus, truck, motorcycle, bicycle), packages triggers as DetectionShot thumbnails, and drives Business Intelligence functions including people counting, queue management, heatmap, and vehicle counting.

120dB WDR with WiseNR II (AI) plus 30m 850nm IR at 0.007 lux B/W sensitivity keep coverage stable across daylight and darkness.

The aluminium housing is IP66, IK10, and NEMA 250 type 4X rated across -30°C to +55°C, edge storage runs to 256GB microSD (or 1TB with OnCloud-certified cards), and the camera consumes a maximum 12W (typical 5.3W) over IEEE 802.3af Class 3 PoE.

§ 04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the QNO-C8083R

Varifocal Coverage Without Swapping Hardware

A 3.2x motorized varifocal lens covers 95° wide down to 29° tele, letting one camera adapt to scenes whose framing needs may not be finalised at install — no return trip to swap a fixed lens.

AI Analytics With Business Intelligence Bundled

Person / vehicle classification with vehicle type filtering plus native people counting, queue management, heatmap, and vehicle counting run on-board, without a separate analytics licence or server-side re-processing.

Tele Reach for Long Perimeters

186.9m Detect and 18.7m Identify DORI at the tele end make this bullet a real option for boundary walls, driveway approaches, and industrial fence lines where a fixed 3mm lens would waste pixels on empty foreground.

NEMA 4X Grade Weather Sealing

IP66 and IK10 plus NEMA 250 type 4X put the housing at a step above general-purpose outdoor cameras, suiting corrosive coastal, agricultural, and industrial mounts alongside standard commercial exteriors.

§ 05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Industrial Yard and Fence-Line Perimeters

The 3.2x zoom lets installers tune between wide overview and long-distance identification per mount position; NEMA 4X-rated sealing suits corrosive coastal and industrial exposures where standard cameras degrade in service.

Long Driveways and Boundary Roads

Tele-end DORI Recognize at 37.4m and Identify at 18.7m makes this bullet effective for entry roads and driveways where identifying an approaching vehicle at range is the primary requirement.

Loading Bays With Vehicle Type Filtering

AI Vehicle attribute filtering by type (car, bus, truck, motorcycle, bicycle) plus vehicle counting drives operational reporting on top of security coverage, without adding a separate analytics platform.

Public-Facing Building Approaches

120dB WDR with AI-driven WiseNR II handles the contrast between sunlit exteriors and shaded awnings, and people counting supports foot-traffic reporting for facility management alongside security review.

§ 06Setup

Installation & setup

01

PoE Class 3 — Verify Switch Budget

Powered on IEEE 802.3af Class 3 PoE, typical 5.3W but maximum 12W. Confirm the total PoE budget on the switch or injector before adding multiple varifocal cameras to a shared port group.

02

Mounting Interface

Aluminium bullet housing weighing 930g. Compatible with Single, Double, and 4" Octagon gang boxes for standard AU install kits. Position on wall or pole with clear aim along the intended scene.

03

First-Time Setup and Focus

Configure via the Hanwha Vision web interface after connecting to the network. Use the Simple focus function during first-time alignment; the Micro USB Type B port is preview / installation only and requires the WiFi dongle accessory.

04

Environmental Range

Operating -30°C to +55°C (start-up above -30°C required), storage -50°C to +60°C. Rated IP66 (dust/water jets), IK10 (impact), and NEMA 250 type 4X (indoor/outdoor, corrosion-resistant). Preserve ratings by sealing conduit and cable entry with weatherproof glands.

§ 08Questions

Frequently asked about the QNO-C8083R

Q.01

Q: What zoom range and field of view does the QNO-C8083R offer?

A: The camera uses a 3.2-10.2mm F1.6-3.1 motorized varifocal lens providing 3.2x optical zoom. The horizontal field of view spans 95° at the wide end down to 29° at the tele end, vertical is 69°-21°, and diagonal 126°-36°. Coverage width and detail concentration are adjustable in the camera interface after installation without physically returning to the mount.
Q.02

Q: What is the DORI reach at each end of the zoom range?

A: DORI per EN62676-4 at the wide end is Detect 42.7m, Observe 17.2m, Recognize 8.5m, Identify 4.3m. At the tele end it extends to Detect 186.9m, Observe 75.4m, Recognize 37.4m, Identify 18.7m. Tele coverage suits driveways and boundary walls; wide coverage suits open forecourts and parking rows.
Q.03

Q: How does the AI analytics differ from earlier Q Series cameras?

A: The QNO-C8083R uses on-board NPU AI Object detection to classify persons and vehicles (with vehicle type filtering across car, bus, truck, motorcycle, bicycle), captures a DetectionShot thumbnail per event, and adds Business Intelligence (people counting, queue management, heatmap, vehicle counting). Non-AI Q Series cameras such as the QNO-8010R offer Normal analytics only (motion, tampering, defocus, virtual line/area) without object classification.
Q.04

Q: What is the night vision reach and low-light sensitivity?

A: 850nm IR LEDs illuminate to 30m (98.42ft). Minimum illumination is 0.07 lux in colour and 0.007 lux in B/W (measured at F1.6, 1/30 sec, 30 IRE). WiseNR II — Hanwha's AI-based noise reduction — combined with SSNR V keeps detail clean at low light without smearing.
Q.05

Q: What PoE budget does the camera need?

A: The QNO-C8083R runs on IEEE 802.3af Class 3 PoE with typical draw of 5.3W and maximum draw of 12W. Because the varifocal motor draws more power under adjustment than a fixed-lens camera, always plan for the maximum figure when sizing a shared PSE.
Q.06

Q: What weather and impact ratings does the housing carry?

A: The aluminium housing carries IEC 60529 IP66, IEC 62262 IK10, and NEMA 250 type 4X ratings. NEMA 4X adds explicit corrosion-resistance suitability alongside standard outdoor water and dust protection, making the housing a good fit for coastal, industrial, or agricultural mounts.
Q.07

Q: How much edge storage does the microSD slot support?

A: Single Micro SD / SDHC / SDXC slot supports cards up to 256GB, or up to 1TB when using Hanwha Vision-branded microSD cards certified for OnCloud edge recording. Edge storage is intended as a failover buffer for NVR or network outages.
Q.08

Q: Which network protocols and ONVIF profiles are supported?

A: Ethernet is RJ-45 10/100BASE-T. Streaming supports up to 20 unicast users, up to 5 stream profiles, and multicast. ONVIF profiles S, G, T, and M are supported alongside SUNAPI (HTTP API), Hanwha Vision Open Platform, MQTT publication/subscription, and native Direct Cloud Connection.
