01Overview

What the QNV-7082R is

The Hanwha QNV-7082R is a 4MP H.265 IR vandal dome camera with a motorized 3.1x varifocal lens tuned for versatile outdoor coverage across a broad temperature range.

A 1/2.9" CMOS sensor pairs with a 3.2-10mm F1.6-2.9 lens covering a 99°-30° horizontal / 53°-17° vertical / 116°-35° diagonal field of view, delivering 2560×1440 at 30fps under H.265, H.264, and MJPEG codecs with WiseStream II smart compression.

120dB WDR combined with SSNR noise reduction preserves detail through mixed daylight, while 850nm IR LEDs illuminate the scene to 30m at 0.01 lux B/W for overnight coverage.

The aluminium vandal dome is IP66, IK10, and NEMA 250 type 4X rated across an extended -40°C to +55°C operating range, and accepts either IEEE 802.3af Class 3 PoE (max 11.4W) or 12VDC (max 9.6W) input.

Non-AI analytics include motion, tampering, defocus, and virtual line/area rules.

04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the QNV-7082R

Varifocal Framing Without Return Visits

The 3.1x motorized varifocal lets installers reframe scene coverage after mount without swapping hardware or physically adjusting the camera position — critical when scene needs shift after project handover.

NEMA 4X Corrosion Grade

IP66 / IK10 / NEMA 250 type 4X puts this dome at a step above general-purpose outdoor cameras, suiting corrosive coastal, agricultural, and industrial mounts alongside standard commercial exteriors.

Cold-Chain and Alpine Ready

Wide -40°C to +55°C operating range extends well beyond the -30°C baseline of standard cameras, supporting refrigerated logistics, alpine sites, and inland winter mounts.

Dual Power Options

Support for both IEEE 802.3af Class 3 PoE and 12VDC input eliminates the need to re-cable 12VDC-only refit sites; the camera accepts either without an accessory converter.

05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Coastal and Industrial Building Exteriors

NEMA 4X sealing handles the corrosion exposure of coastal and industrial mounts where standard cameras degrade over time. The 3.1x zoom allows install-time framing to be optimised for the specific façade geometry.

Refrigerated Logistics and Coldrooms

The -40°C operating range supports permanent camera mounts inside food-industry coldrooms and chilled logistics facilities that would exceed a standard camera's low-temperature limit.

Warehouse Loading Bay Interiors

30m IR paired with the varifocal reach allows one dome to cover bay openings and interior loading floors, with framing adjustable to suit the specific bay layout.

Refit Sites With 12VDC Cabling

Existing analog CCTV refit projects often have 12VDC power already run to camera positions. Dual power input avoids the need to re-cable those sites for PoE.

06Setup

Installation & setup

  1. Dual Power Options

Accepts IEEE 802.3af Class 3 PoE (typ. 8.5W, max 11.4W) or 12VDC (typ. 7.2W, max 9.6W). Because the varifocal motor draws more power under adjustment than a fixed-lens camera, always plan for the maximum figure.

  2. Physical Housing

Aluminium vandal dome, 710g. Suits standard AU ceiling and wall mount interfaces; use the mounting bracket supplied with the camera.

  3. First-Time Setup and Focus

Configure via the Hanwha Vision web interface after connecting to the network. Use the Simple focus function during first-time alignment; the varifocal lens can be re-zoomed in the interface without physical adjustment.

  4. Environmental Range

Operating -40°C to +55°C (start-up above -30°C required), storage -40°C to +60°C. Rated IP66 (dust/water jets), IK10 (impact), and NEMA 250 type 4X (indoor/outdoor, corrosion-resistant). Preserve ratings by sealing conduit and cable entry with weatherproof glands.

08Questions

Frequently asked about the QNV-7082R

Q.01

Q: What zoom range and field of view does the QNV-7082R offer?
A: The camera uses a 3.2-10mm F1.6-2.9 motorized varifocal lens providing 3.1x optical zoom. Horizontal field of view spans 99° at the wide end down to 30° at the tele end, vertical 53°-17°, diagonal 116°-35°. Coverage width is adjustable in the camera interface after installation without returning to the mount.
Q.02

Q: What is the DORI reach at each end of the zoom range?
A: DORI per EN62676-4 at the wide end is Detect 44.3m, Observe 17.7m, Recognize 8.9m, Identify 4.4m. At the tele end it extends to Detect 138.4m, Observe 55.4m, Recognize 27.7m, Identify 13.8m. Tele coverage suits long corridors, driveways, and yard boundaries; wide coverage suits open interiors and forecourts.
Q.03

Q: How far does the night vision reach?
A: The 850nm IR LEDs illuminate to 30m (98.42ft), and minimum illumination is 0.1 lux in colour and 0.01 lux in B/W at 1/30 sec / 30 IRE. In near-total darkness the camera falls back to B/W with IR on.
Q.04

Q: Can I power the QNV-7082R over PoE, 12VDC, or both?
A: Both. The camera accepts IEEE 802.3af Class 3 PoE with typical draw 8.5W and maximum 11.4W, or 12VDC input with typical draw 7.2W and maximum 9.6W.
Q.05

Q: What operating temperature range does the QNV-7082R support?
A: Operating range is -40°C to +55°C, storage -40°C to +60°C, with start-up required above -30°C. The wider low-temperature limit supports refrigerated coldrooms, alpine mounts, and inland winter conditions.
Q.06

Q: What weather and impact ratings does the housing carry?
A: The aluminium housing carries IEC 60529 IP66, IEC 62262 IK10, and NEMA 250 type 4X ratings. NEMA 4X adds explicit corrosion-resistance suitability alongside standard outdoor water and dust protection.
Q.07

Q: Does this camera include AI object classification?
A: No. The QNV-7082R runs Normal analytics only — motion detection, tampering, defocus detection, and Virtual line / Virtual area rules. It does not classify person versus vehicle.
Q.08

Q: What ONVIF and API options are supported for integration?
A: The camera implements ONVIF profiles S, G, and T alongside SUNAPI (HTTP API) and Hanwha Vision Open Platform, with Ethernet on RJ-45 10/100BASE-T.
