§ 01Overview

What the QND-7082R is

The Hanwha QND-7082R is a 4MP indoor dome camera from Hanwha's Wisenet Q series — mid-range essential-features positioning with a motorized varifocal lens for remote framing flexibility.

A 3.2mm to 10mm motorized varifocal lens covers 98.6° wide down to 30.8° tight, adjustable over the network so the camera fits multiple room roles from a single install.

The 4MP sensor (2560x1440) captures at up to 20fps in H.265/H.264/MJPEG with WiseStream II bandwidth optimisation and 120dB WDR handling backlit windows and office doorway lighting transitions.

IR LEDs reach 20m for after-hours coverage; the camera includes hallway view mode (90°/270° rotation) for corridor coverage and Lens Distortion Correction (LDC) to straighten wide-angle geometry.

Standard PoE (IEEE 802.3af, Class 3) power — any standard PoE switch port works.

Micro SD/SDHC/SDXC edge storage up to 128GB.

Motion, tampering and defocus detection built in.

Compact IK10-rated indoor dome housing.

§ 04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the QND-7082R

Varifocal Lens at Q-Series Price

The 3.2-10mm motorized varifocal lets one camera cover office reception, corridor, or meeting-room roles without a physical lens swap. Getting this framing flexibility at Q-series price makes deployments cheaper across multi-room sites.

4MP for Sensible Room-Size Coverage

At 4MP (2560x1440), the camera has enough detail for office reception, till points and corridor coverage at typical 8-15 foot viewing distances. For much larger rooms or long distances, consider a higher-resolution P series unit.

LDC Removes Wide-Angle Distortion

At the 3.2mm wide end, straight lines curve — a normal side effect of wide-angle lenses. Lens Distortion Correction rebuilds the straight-line geometry, useful for corridor coverage and long-room shots where the distortion would otherwise be noticeable.

Runs on Standard PoE

IEEE 802.3af Class 3 is enough — any standard PoE switch port powers the camera. No PoE+ upgrade, no infrastructure planning, just plug into an existing PoE port.

§ 05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Office Reception & Foyer

Motorized varifocal lets one install cover different framings — wide for full reception view, tight for the counter area — adjusted from the security desk remotely.

Corporate Meeting Rooms

Hallway view mode covers narrow meeting rooms in portrait; the 4MP resolution supports evidence-grade recording where governance-sensitive discussions occur.

Retail Store Interior

Ceiling-mounted 4MP dome with motorized varifocal — cover a wide aisle at 3.2mm or focus tight on till points at 10mm as security priorities shift.

Corridor & Long-Room Coverage

Hallway view (90°/270° rotation) plus LDC give clean corridor-facing coverage without curved geometry at the wide angle.

Bank Branches & Financial Front Offices

Varifocal + Q-series price + IK10 vandal dome — cost-effective indoor coverage for branch teller lines and lobby areas.

03

App & Setup

1. Discover with Wisenet Toolbox Plus or Device Manager. 2. Set admin password on first login (brute-force prevention enforced), configure H.265 with WiseStream II. 3. Set focal length via motorized varifocal from the network (3.2-10mm range). 4. Enable event rules (motion detection zones, tampering, defocus); enable LDC if wide-angle distortion is objectionable.

§ 08Questions

Frequently asked about the QND-7082R

Q.01

What's the practical difference between this and the fixed-lens QND-6012R?

The QND-6012R has a fixed wide lens — install-and-forget for one room shape. This QND-7082R has a 3.2-10mm motorized varifocal, so one camera can cover different framings by adjusting focal length remotely. Choose fixed for simple installs; choose varifocal when framing might need to change over time.
Q.02

Is 4MP resolution enough for a retail store or office reception?

For typical office reception, till point, meeting room, and short-corridor coverage at 8-15 foot viewing distances, 4MP delivers detail suited to security review. For much larger spaces or subjects at 30+ feet, a higher-resolution unit gives better forensic zoom capability.
Q.03

What does Lens Distortion Correction (LDC) do?

At the wide end of the varifocal range, straight lines curve inward — a normal side effect of wide-angle lenses. LDC digitally straightens that geometry, giving a cleaner rectangular view for corridor coverage and evidence workflows where visible distortion would be objectionable.
Q.04

Why 20fps instead of 30fps?

The 4MP resolution at maximum recording quality caps at 20fps. For lower resolutions, the frame rate rises. For security applications 20fps at 4MP is more than enough for evidence capture; for motion-heavy scenes where every frame matters, consider a 30fps-at-4MP camera.
Q.05

Does it work with third-party VMS?

Yes. ONVIF Profile S / G / T so it drops into any ONVIF-compatible VMS or NVR. Native Wisenet WAVE and SSM integration is fullest; SUNAPI (HTTP API) supports custom integrations.
Q.06

What's the IR range in practical terms?

20m of IR illumination for full-dark identification. Suitable for typical indoor scenarios (an office at night, a shuttered retail store, a corridor). If your indoor site has significant ambient light after hours, the 0.1 Lux minimum illumination may cover it in colour without IR activation.
Q.07

Does it need PoE+ or standard PoE?

Standard PoE (IEEE 802.3af, Class 3) is sufficient — same as the QND-6012R fixed-lens variant. Any standard PoE switch port powers it, no PoE+ upgrade needed.
