01Overview

What the PNM-C7083RVD is

The Hanwha PNM-C7083RVD is a dual-sensor multi-directional AI camera — Hanwha's entry into their first-generation AI Multi-Directional product line alongside the higher-resolution PNM-C12083RVD sibling.

Two independent 2MP (1080p) sensors sit in a single housing with individual 3mm to 6mm motorized varifocal lenses per channel, covering 107° to 56° horizontal per sensor.

Each sensor can be framed and focused independently to cover two directions from a single install point.

On-camera AI classifies Person, Face, Vehicle and License plate per channel, with IVA event rules (virtual line, virtual area, enter/exit, loitering, direction, intrusion) scoped per object class to eliminate wildlife and shadow nuisance alerts.

WiseIR reaches 15m to 25m depending on scene, extremeWDR handles backlit gateways, and the outdoor housing carries IP66, IP67, IK10 and NEMA 4X ratings for exposed perimeter and gateway mounting.

PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at, Class 4) single-cable power; edge storage via microSD.

04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the PNM-C7083RVD

Dual Sensor Cuts Perimeter Install Cost

One PNM-C7083RVD covers what two single-sensor outdoor cameras would — halving cabling, bracketing, PoE port and NVR channel count on typical perimeter and gateway locations. The savings are in the install cost, not the camera unit price.

On-Camera AI Filters Alerts to What Matters

Object classification tags each detection as a Person, Face, Vehicle or License plate before firing a rule. Perimeter and gateway zones can be scoped by class, so wildlife, shadows and non-target motion stop generating operator noise.

Independent Framing Per Direction

Each of the two 2MP sensors has its own motorized varifocal lens, so the two directions are framed and focused independently — one head can be at 3mm wide while the other is at 6mm tight for a narrower approach.

Entry-Level Price Into AI Multi-Directional

Alongside the 12MP PNM-C12083RVD sibling, this dual 2MP unit is Hanwha's most affordable path into the AI multi-directional category — same AI engine and analytics, just 2MP resolution per channel instead of 6-megapixel.

05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Small-Business Perimeter Corners

Retail shopfront corners and warehouse gateway corners typically need two-direction coverage; one dual-sensor unit is the neat fit here, especially when 4MP or higher per direction would be excessive.

Petrol Station Forecourts

Pump islands need coverage of both car approach and pump lane; two heads on one mount serve both without doubling cabling to a central console.

Loading Dock Doors

Roller door approaches from both sides can share one mount above the door; per-sensor framing lets one head focus tight on the door itself and the other wide on the yard apron.

Building Entry Vestibules

Front and back of a vestibule need independent framing; one dual-sensor camera keeps the ceiling profile tidy while covering both directions with different focal lengths.

Compact Site Boundary Runs

Small industrial or commercial sites with limited camera budget: two directions from one head at PoE+ single-cable install.

Installation & setup

  1. What's in the Box

    • Hanwha PNM-C7083RVD Camera x 1
    • Mounting Template & Fixings x 1 set
    • Quick Start Guide x 1

  2. Installation Requirements

    • Power: PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at, Class 4) — standard 802.3af NOT sufficient. Verify switch or midspan.
    • Storage: single micro SD/SDHC/SDXC card slot up to 512GB (sold separately) for edge recording.
    • Mounting: outdoor multi-directional dome, IP66/IP67/IK10/NEMA 4X. Verify substrate strength.
    • Network: RJ-45 with weather-sealed connector for outdoor positions; ONVIF Profile S/G/T/M for third-party VMS or Wisenet WAVE / SSM native integration.

  3. App & Setup

    • Discover with Wisenet Toolbox Plus or Device Manager.
    • Set admin password on first login (brute-force prevention enforced), configure H.265 with WiseStream II.
    • Frame each of the two sensors independently — different focal lengths per direction as needed.
    • Enable AI object classification per channel; scope virtual line and virtual area rules to Person or Vehicle as required.

08Questions

Frequently asked about the PNM-C7083RVD

Q.01

How is a dual-sensor multi-directional different from a fisheye?
A fisheye uses one wide-angle lens producing a distorted 360° image that gets dewarped. This camera has two independent lens+sensor pairs, each producing a rectangular perspective view of one direction. Rectangular perspective is easier to review and doesn't lose resolution to dewarping geometry, but it covers less than 360°.
Q.02

Do the two sensors show as one camera or two on the NVR?
Two — the camera exposes two independent channels to the VMS. It consumes two NVR channel licences and appears as two streams in the VMS layout, though physically it's one device on one IP address.
Q.03

Do I need to license the AI analytics separately?
No. Object classification (Person, Face, Vehicle, License plate), IVA events (virtual line, virtual area, enter/exit, loitering, direction, intrusion) and business intelligence functions all run on the camera itself with no separate licence.
Q.04

How does this compare to the 6-megapixel dual PNM-C12083RVD?
Same AI engine, same analytics suite, same multi-directional housing and mounting. The difference is sensor resolution — 2MP per sensor here vs 6-megapixel per sensor on the C12083RVD. Choose this model when 1080p per direction is enough; choose the C12083 when you need finer detail for forensic zoom during review.
Q.05

What's the IR range in practical terms?
The camera lists 15m to 25m WiseIR per sensor, scene-dependent. In a typical gateway or forecourt with some ambient light, the higher end of that range is achievable; in complete darkness with a highly-reflective foreground the range shortens.
Q.06

What VMS platforms does it support?
ONVIF Profile S, G, T and M — drops into any ONVIF-compatible VMS. Native Wisenet WAVE and SSM integration is fullest; SUNAPI (HTTP API) is documented for custom code.
Q.07

How does the edge storage split across two sensors?
The camera has a single micro SD/SDHC/SDXC slot (up to 512GB). Edge recording covers both channels; unlike the higher-tier multi-sensor models which have dual card slots, redundancy is limited on this unit.
