01Overview

What the PNO-9080R is

The Hanwha PNO-9080R is a 12MP (4000x3000) outdoor bullet from the Wisenet P Series — well above standard 4K resolution, giving genuine forensic-review headroom for wide-area outdoor scenes where digital zoom into a wide shot still needs to resolve identifying detail.

The 4.5mm to 10mm motorized varifocal lens with P-Iris control lets installers set exact framing and aperture from the network after physical mount, removing ladder-return commissioning tasks.

IR LEDs reach 40m for identification-range coverage of car parks, industrial yards and building perimeters.

120dB True WDR handles backlit entrances and mixed-lighting scenes; WiseStream combined with H.265 reduces bandwidth by up to 75% versus H.264 alone.

The Wisenet P series edge-based AI generates object data (person, face, vehicle, license plate attributes) for VMS-side attribute search.

IP66 and IK10 rated for outdoor exposed positions, PoE (IEEE 802.3af Class 3) power — standard PoE port is sufficient.

SD card slot up to 128GB, NAS and local PC storage supported.

04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the PNO-9080R

12MP Ultra Resolution Beyond Standard 4K

Standard 4K is 3840x2160 (about 8MP); this camera outputs 4000x3000 (12MP) — roughly 50% more pixel budget per frame. On a wide-area shot, that difference means usable detail after digital zoom into a corner of the frame during incident review.

Motorized Varifocal + P-Iris Cuts Install Time

Both focal length and iris aperture are controlled remotely from the network post-mount. Installers don't return to the site to adjust field of view when signage moves or coverage changes — significant cost saving on multi-camera perimeter installs.

Standard PoE, Not PoE+

The camera runs on standard IEEE 802.3af Class 3 PoE — not the PoE+ required by many higher-tier P series cameras. Any standard PoE switch port powers it, keeping infrastructure requirements simple.

WiseStream + H.265 Manages 12MP Storage

A 12MP outdoor bullet without codec optimisation would consume outsized NVR storage. WiseStream dynamic bitrate combined with H.265 reduces bandwidth by up to 75% versus H.264 alone — 12MP capture becomes practical at scale.

05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Car Park Perimeter Bullets

Building-eave mounted along a car park frontage; 40m IR covers the standard bay-row depth after dark, and 12MP resolution catches vehicle detail across the full frame for incident review.

Industrial Yard Boundaries

Perimeter fence lines at industrial yards benefit from 12MP resolution across a wide FoV — an intruder crossing anywhere in the frame is captured at forensic detail rather than a blob.

Commercial Building Facade

Front-of-building bullet coverage catches both approach paths and building frontage; motorized varifocal lets one install position cover a wide entrance and a tight approach lane as security priorities shift.

Loading Bay Approaches

A 12MP outdoor bullet at the loading bay approach reads vehicle and driver detail from a distance in low light thanks to 40m IR and true 120dB WDR handling doorway lighting transitions.

Retail Storefront Kerb

Bullet cameras above a shopfront awning cover both storefront and kerb — 12MP catches individual pedestrian detail across a wide street-facing frame while WiseStream keeps the bandwidth cost sane.

08Questions

Frequently asked about the PNO-9080R

Q.01

How does 12MP differ from standard 4K in practical terms?
Standard 4K is 3840x2160 (about 8MP). This camera outputs 4000x3000 (12MP) — roughly 50% more pixels per frame. During incident review, that extra pixel budget lets you digitally zoom into a corner of the wide shot and still resolve identifying detail rather than a smudge.
Q.02

Why does the frame rate drop at 12MP?
Processing a 12MP stream at high frame rates requires more sensor readout and encode bandwidth. The camera delivers up to 20fps at full 12MP, and up to 30fps if you drop to 8MP output resolution. Choose based on whether you need maximum resolution or maximum motion smoothness for the specific scene.
Q.03

What does P-Iris control add?
P-Iris automatically optimises the lens aperture across changing light conditions — brighter apertures at dusk, tighter apertures in bright noon sun — maintaining sharpness and depth of field across the day. Manual iris cameras compromise one condition or the other.
Q.04

What's the AI feature set on this camera?
The Wisenet P series edge-based AI extracts object attributes (person, face, vehicle, license plate) to support VMS-side attribute search — that means during incident search you can filter recordings by object attribute rather than watching hours of raw footage.
Q.05

What analytics come standard?
Motion detection, defocus detection, tampering detection and digital auto tracking are built into the camera, accessible via the web interface or any ONVIF-compatible VMS.
Q.06

Does it need PoE+?
No. Standard PoE (IEEE 802.3af, Class 3) is sufficient — one of the few 12MP outdoor bullets that runs on a standard PoE port without requiring PoE+ (802.3at). This simplifies switch infrastructure at multi-camera sites.
Q.07

What edge storage options are supported?
SD/SDHC/SDXC card up to 128GB in the built-in slot, plus NAS storage and local PC recording. That flexibility lets edge and centralised storage coexist depending on network reliability at each install point.
