What the UNVKIT-IPC3636SS-ADF28KMC-I1-2CAM-NVR501-04B-P4-IQ is

This kit pairs two IPC3636SS-ADF28KMC-I1 active deterrence turret cameras with the NVR501-04B-P4-IQ 4-channel recorder. Every camera takes one Ethernet run to the recorder, which powers it over PoE and records its stream, so there is no separate switch or power supply per camera. No hard drive is included: add a surveillance drive before checkout and the recorder is ready to record.

The IPC3636SS answers an intruder rather than just filming one. It carries both infrared and a warm light, each reaching 30 m, a red and blue warning light, and a built-in microphone and speaker for two-way talk. Detection runs on the camera: cross-line, intrusion, enter-area and leave-area detection with human, motor vehicle and non-motor vehicle classification, plus people flow counting. The 1/2.7" CMOS sensor and 2.8 mm F1.0 lens record 6MP (3072 × 2048) at up to 30 fps with 130 dB WDR, colour holds to 0.001 lux, and the view is 107.2° across. It has alarm and audio in/out connections (1 in / 1 out), and the IP67 housing is rated for -30 °C to 60 °C.

The NVR501-04B-P4-IQ has 4 PoE ports at up to 30 W each and 50 W in total, records up to 16MP per channel, and takes one SATA drive of up to 16TB. With two cameras connected, 2 PoE channels remain for later.

What's in the Box

Installation Requirements

1. One Cat5e or Cat6 Ethernet run from each camera to a PoE port on the recorder, up to 100 m per run; the port carries power and video together. 2. Mount each camera under an eave or on a wall; the turret body pans and tilts in its base, so aim after fixing. 3. Fit a SATA surveillance hard drive in the recorder and connect its network port to your router for remote viewing. Recording runs on the local network without internet.

Setup

1. Power the recorder, set a strong password and initialise the drive from the storage menu with overwrite enabled. 2. Add the cameras on the PoE ports from the recorder's camera menu and set each camera's name and time. 3. Draw each camera's intrusion and cross-line zones tight to your own property and both rules detect on people and vehicles.

Does the Uniview 2-camera IPC3636SS kit come with a hard drive?
No. The NVR501-04B-P4-IQ has one SATA bay for a surveillance-rated drive of up to 16TB, and a drive must be fitted and initialised before it records. Choose a 2TB to 10TB drive in the kit customiser before checkout, or fit your own.

Can the NVR501-04B-P4-IQ power both cameras?
Yes. The recorder supplies IEEE 802.3af and 802.3at PoE at up to 30 W per port and 50 W in total, and each IPC3636SS draws a maximum of 10 W, so two cameras need 20 W at most.

Can I add more cameras later?
Yes. 2 of the 4 PoE channels are free, and the recorder records up to 16MP per channel, so a further Uniview PoE camera plugs straight into a spare port; keep the total draw under the recorder's 50 W PoE budget (two IPC3636SS use 20 W at most).

Do the cameras record sound, and can I talk through them?
Both. Each IPC3636SS has a built-in microphone and speaker with two-way audio, so each of the two cameras can both record sound and talk back, and each has a red and blue warning light. Check your state's rules on audio recording before enabling it on cameras that face public space.

Is night footage in colour or black and white?
Either. The IPC3636SS carries both infrared and a warm light, each reaching 30 m. Colour holds to 0.001 lux; below that the camera can run discreet infrared in black and white, or switch the warm light on for colour; it also has a red and blue warning light.

Does it need an internet connection?
Not for recording. Recording, detection and playback run on the recorder over your local network; internet is only needed for remote viewing, which the recorder supports over P2P for up to 128 remote users.
