This Hikvision 8 MP 8-channel kit is a complete eight-camera system for a larger home or business, supplied ready to record. It combines eight DS-2CD2T86G2-2I AcuSense bullet cameras and an eight-channel DS-7608NI-M2/8P PoE NVR — no hard drive included (add one below to enable recording). Each camera runs on a single network cable to a built-in PoE port, and the recorder is set up to capture all eight channels from the start.

The cameras are built for demanding outdoor coverage. Each is an 8 MP (4K) bullet with Powered-by-DarkFighter low-light imaging for clean detail in dark conditions, AcuSense deep learning that classifies human and vehicle targets so alerts and searches ignore rain, shadows and animals, and a 120 dB wide dynamic range that holds detail against bright backlight. A 50 metre EXIR infrared range reaches well down driveways, fences and car parks at night. These are -2I cameras with no built-in microphone, so the kit records high-quality video without audio.

A couple of honest notes so it is set up well. DarkFighter is a low-light sensor technology, which means clean images in the dark, but at night the picture is infrared black and white, not full colour, so this is not a ColorVu kit. The IP67 metal bodies with integrated sun shields suit exposed walls and poles in Australian weather. No hard drive is included — add one below to enable recording; a 4 TB drive gives generous everyday retention, and H.265+ compression keeps storage and bandwidth efficient; a larger drive can be fitted for longer retention.

Eight DS-2CD2T86G2-2I bullet cameras, the DS-7608NI-M2/8P NVR (no HDD included — add a hard drive to enable recording), power supply and mounting accessories. Connect a monitor for local viewing.

Cabling

Run one network cable from each camera to a PoE port on the NVR. Standard Ethernet runs apply, and a PoE switch can extend reach for distant cameras.

Fix each bullet high on a wall or pole aimed along the run you want covered, within the 50 metre infrared range, using the sun shield against glare and rain.

Does DarkFighter mean the cameras film in colour at night?
Not at night in the dark. DarkFighter is a low-light sensor technology that keeps the picture clean in dim conditions, but once it switches to infrared the night image is black and white. For full-colour footage all night you would choose a ColorVu kit with white-light cameras.

What does AcuSense do?
AcuSense uses on-camera deep learning to classify human and vehicle targets and ignore other movement such as rain, leaves or animals. The system alerts you to what matters, cuts false alarms, and lets you search recordings by human or vehicle events instead of reviewing hours of footage.
Q.04

Do the cameras record sound?
No. The DS-2CD2T86G2-2I cameras do not have a built-in microphone, so the kit records video without audio. If you need sound, camera models with a built-in microphone would be required instead.

Why bullet cameras with 50 metre infrared?
Bullet cameras suit longer outdoor runs such as driveways, fences and car parks, and the 50 metre EXIR infrared reaches further at night than a typical turret. That makes the kit a strong fit for larger properties where cameras look down long approaches.

Is the kit full, or can I add more cameras?
The recorder is an eight-channel NVR and the kit uses all eight channels, so it is complete as supplied. To add more cameras you would step up to a larger recorder, such as a 16-channel NVR, and use a PoE switch for the extra ports.

How much will a 4 TB drive store?
A 4 TB surveillance drive gives generous everyday retention for eight 8 MP cameras, helped by H.265+ compression, which roughly halves storage compared with older H.264. Exact days depend on motion, frame rate and quality, and a larger drive can be fitted for longer retention.

Are the cameras built for Australian weather?
Yes. The bullet cameras are IP67 rated against dust and water in a metal body with an integrated sun shield, so they handle sun, rain and dust on exposed walls and poles, with 50 metre infrared for night coverage.
