This Hikvision 6 MP 8-channel kit is a complete eight-camera system for a larger home or business, supplied ready to record. It combines eight DS-2CD2T66G2H-2I AcuSense EXIR bullet cameras, an eight-channel DS-7608NI-M2/8P PoE NVR and a 4 TB surveillance hard drive already fitted, so each camera connects on a single network cable and the recorder is set up to capture all eight channels from the start.

The cameras suit longer outdoor coverage. Each is a 6 MP bullet recording 3200 x 1800, with AcuSense deep learning that classifies human and vehicle targets so alerts and searches ignore rain, shadows and animals, and a 120 dB true wide dynamic range that holds detail against bright backlight. A long 60 metre EXIR infrared range reaches well down driveways, fences and car parks at night, which is what makes the bullet shape a good fit for larger properties. These are -2I cameras with no built-in microphone, so the kit records high-quality video without audio.

A couple of honest notes so the system is set up well. The cameras use Powered-by-DarkFighter low-light imaging for clean detail in the dark, but the night image is infrared black and white, not full colour, so this is not a ColorVu kit. The IP67 metal bodies with sun shields suit exposed walls and poles in Australian weather. The 4 TB drive is included as standard for generous everyday retention, and H.265+ compression keeps storage efficient, with room to fit a larger drive later.

Eight DS-2CD2T66G2H-2I bullet cameras, the DS-7608NI-M2/8P NVR with a 4 TB drive fitted, power supply and mounting accessories. Connect a monitor for local viewing.

Cabling

Run one network cable from each camera to a PoE port on the NVR. Standard Ethernet runs apply, and a PoE switch can extend reach for distant cameras.

Fix each bullet high on a wall or pole aimed along the run you want covered, within the 60 metre infrared range, using the sun shield against glare and rain.

Is the kit ready to record out of the box?
Yes. It includes the eight 6 MP AcuSense bullet cameras, the eight-channel DS-7608NI-M2/8P PoE NVR and a 4 TB surveillance hard drive already fitted, so each camera connects on one network cable and the recorder captures all eight channels. Add a screen or use the Hik-Connect app to view.

What does AcuSense do for me?
AcuSense uses on-camera deep learning to tell people and vehicles apart from other movement such as rain, leaves or animals. The system alerts you to what matters, cuts false alarms, and lets you search recordings by human or vehicle events rather than scrubbing through hours of footage.

Do the cameras record sound?
No. The DS-2CD2T66G2H-2I cameras do not have a built-in microphone, so the kit records video without audio. If sound matters for your site, you would choose camera models that include a built-in microphone.

Bullet cameras suit longer outdoor runs, and the 60 metre EXIR infrared on these reaches further at night than a typical turret. That makes the kit a strong fit for driveways, fences, car parks and larger properties where cameras look down long approaches.

Is the kit full, or can I add more cameras?
The recorder is an eight-channel NVR and the kit uses all eight channels, so it is complete as supplied. To add more cameras you would step up to a larger recorder, such as a 16-channel NVR, and use a PoE switch for the extra ports.

How much will the 4 TB drive store?
The included 4 TB surveillance drive gives generous everyday retention for eight 6 MP cameras, helped by H.265+ compression, which roughly halves the storage compared with older H.264. Exact days depend on motion, frame rate and quality, and a larger drive can be fitted for longer retention.

Will the cameras work with an older Hikvision NVR?
Yes. As long as the recorder runs current firmware it treats these as standard cameras, and the kit recorder is matched to them out of the box. The AcuSense smart functions are set from each camera's web interface, with recording and playback managed on the NVR.
