This 2-camera starter kit pairs two DS-2CD2366G2-I 6MP AcuSense turrets with the 4-channel DS-7604NI-M1/4P recorder and a pre-installed 4TB surveillance drive — recording starts as soon as the cameras are plugged in.
Two cameras covers the two approaches that matter most — typically the front entry and the driveway, or front and back doors on a unit or townhouse. AcuSense classification runs on the cameras themselves, so alerts are filtered to humans and vehicles before they reach your phone, and the 0.003 lux DarkFighter sensors keep colour going well into the evening with 30m of smart infrared after that.
The 4CH recorder keeps two spare PoE channels for growing later, and two 6MP streams fill the 4TB drive in around 7 weeks of continuous recording — months on motion-only. These G2-I cameras carry no microphones, which keeps strata and shared-space consent issues out of the picture.

Installation Requirements
1. Each camera needs one Ethernet run back to the NVR — the PoE ports carry power and video together, up to 100m per run. 2. Mount on a solid wall or eave; under-eave positions keep lenses clear of direct rain and afternoon sun. 3. Connect the NVR to your router with a short Ethernet patch lead for remote viewing — works on all NBN connection types.
App Setup
1. Activate the NVR with a strong password on first boot, then add it to the Hik-Connect app by scanning the QR code on the NVR screen. 2. Enable push notifications in Hik-Connect so AcuSense human and vehicle alerts reach your phone. 3. Around 7 weeks of continuous recording from two 6MP cameras (roughly 40GB per camera per day), and months on motion-only recording. The NVR overwrites the oldest footage automatically.

No — the G2-I cameras in this kit have no microphones, which suits strata schemes, shared driveways and workplaces where audio recording raises consent issues. If you want audio on a corner or two, add the -IU mic version to your order — same imaging, same AI, same recorder.

What does AcuSense actually do?
Each camera classifies what triggered an event — human, vehicle, or neither — using deep learning on the camera itself, and line crossing, intrusion and region entry/exit zones trigger only on the target types you choose. Far fewer junk notifications get through than pixel-based motion detection.

Can this kit warn intruders off, like cameras with sirens?
Not this one — these are quiet cameras that record and alert. If you want a camera that answers back, add the G2-ISU/SL (strobe, audible warnings, two-way talk) to an approach, or look at the Dahua TiOC family for red and blue lights and a siren.
