§ 01Overview

What the XND-C8083RV is

The Hanwha XND-C8083RV is the 6MP tier of the X-Core indoor AI dome family — built for ceiling-mounted installation in high-traffic commercial interiors where image detail and intelligent analytics are both non-negotiable.

A 4.4-9.3mm motorised varifocal lens with 2.1x optical zoom supports remote field-of-view adjustment across large floor plates or complex interior layouts, though the tighter zoom range compared to the 2MP or 4MP siblings suggests deployments where framing is set once at commissioning rather than needing frequent post-install adjustment.

The 1/1.8-inch CMOS sensor is physically larger than the 1/2-inch sensor on the lower-resolution siblings, gathering more light per pixel — practical impact is cleaner images in dim indoor scenes even before WiseNR II noise reduction.

Sensor output is 3328x1872 at up to 30fps under H.265, H.264, and MJPEG codecs; 30fps rather than 60fps because the higher pixel count reduces per-frame throughput.

extremeWDR at 120dB maintains balanced exposure at entrances, corridors, and reception areas where mixed lighting is common.

WiseIR extends infrared illumination to approximately 40m for low-light coverage after ambient light drops.

The IP52 and IK08-rated housing suits controlled indoor environments where impact resilience is a practical requirement, and the compact dome profile keeps the installation unobtrusive in customer-facing or staff-occupied spaces.

§ 04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the XND-C8083RV

6MP Detail With Larger Sensor Physics

The 6MP resolution combined with a physically larger 1/1.8-inch sensor delivers cleaner low-light and IR-lit imagery than the 2MP/4MP siblings on 1/2-inch sensors — more light per pixel means less noise before compression.

Corporate-Grade AI Classification

Face, plate, person, and vehicle classification — a richer AI feature set than the value Q-Core siblings, positioned for corporate reception, retail loss-prevention, and any indoor scene where identifying subjects matters.

Set-Framing-Once Deployments

The 2.1x zoom range on the 4.4-9.3mm varifocal lens fits deployments where framing is set once at commissioning and stays consistent — a lower-cost trade vs the wider zoom ranges on the C6083RV and C7083RV siblings.

IK08 for Semi-Public Indoor Mounts

IK08 impact resistance handles publicly accessible ceilings around retail floors, apartment common areas, and shopping centre corridors where casual knocks are possible.

§ 05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Retail Stores and Shopping Centres

6MP + AI people classification supports customer flow monitoring, queue analysis at points-of-sale, and identifying incidents at the register for post-event review — higher detail than 4MP siblings for zoom-and-identify workflows.

Corporate Reception and Lobby

The larger 1/1.8-inch sensor delivers cleaner faces in variable lobby lighting; face classification supports visitor identification workflows and access control integration.

Education Facilities and Museums

Compact indoor dome housing blends into architectural finishes; IK08 impact resistance suits publicly accessible mounts in classrooms, gallery ceilings, and museum common areas.

Corridor Intersections and Transit Points

WiseIR 40m sustains full corridor and intersection coverage after site lighting shuts down; 6MP resolution supports post-event zoom to identify subjects from wide-frame footage.

Installation & setup

01

What is in the Box

1. Hanwha XND-C8083RV Camera x 1 2. Mounting Screws & Anchors x 1 set 3. Quick Start Guide x 1

02

Installation Requirements

1. Power: PoE — verify switch/injector budget when adding higher-resolution X-Core cameras. 2. Mounting: ceiling, indoor only — IP52 rating not for outdoor exposure. 3. Storage: microSD card for edge failover recording (6MP consumes more storage per hour than lower-resolution siblings). 4. Environment: controlled indoor spaces; not for exterior walls or covered outdoor entries.

03

App/Software Setup

1. Access via web viewer, or add to Hanwha Wisenet WAVE or SSM software. 2. Dial in framing across the 4.4-9.3mm range at commissioning. 3. Configure AI analytics: face/plate classification, intrusion zones, virtual lines, loitering dwell times. 4. Enable H.265 compression from the outset to keep 6MP streams NVR-friendly.

§ 08Questions

Frequently asked about the XND-C8083RV

Q.01

Q: How is this different from the XND-C7083RV or XND-C9083RV siblings?

A: All three are X-Core indoor AI dome cameras with face/plate classification and WiseIR 40m. The C7083RV is 4MP, the C8083RV is 6MP, the C9083RV is 4K/8MP. The C8083RV steps up to a larger 1/1.8-inch sensor (vs 1/2" on lower siblings) but drops to 30fps (vs 60fps on 2MP/4MP). Pick C8083RV when 6MP detail with clean low-light imagery matters more than 60fps framerate.
Q.02

Q: Why does the C8083RV run at 30fps instead of 60fps?

A: Higher pixel count (6MP vs 2MP/4MP) reduces per-frame throughput on the same processing pipeline. Practical impact for indoor deployments is minimal — 30fps is more than adequate for retail, corporate, and educational monitoring where subjects don't move at motorway speeds.
Q.03

Q: How does the larger 1/1.8-inch sensor help?

A: A physically larger sensor gathers more light per pixel — practical impact is cleaner images in dim indoor scenes and less noise on IR-lit low-light footage. Even before WiseNR II noise reduction runs, the underlying signal is better than the 1/2-inch sensor on the 2MP and 4MP siblings.
Q.04

Q: What AI events can this camera detect?

A: Person, vehicle, face, and licence plate classification, plus intrusion detection, loitering, and line crossing. Configure through the web viewer or Wisenet WAVE.
Q.05

Q: Is this suitable for outdoor use?

A: No — IP52 is an indoor rating (dust-protected, drip-protected only). Fine for indoor commercial ceilings, corridors, lobbies, and public foyers.
Q.06

Q: What field of view can I get?

A: The 4.4-9.3mm motorised varifocal lens with 2.1x optical zoom lets you dial framing between 4.4mm and 9.3mm — a tighter zoom range than the 2MP/4MP siblings but sufficient for most commissioning-time framing decisions on typical ceiling-to-floor distances.
Q.07

Q: How far does WiseIR reach?

A: Approximately 40m — enough for full lobby, corridor, or open-plan floor coverage after site lighting shuts down.
Q.08

Q: Can this integrate with third-party VMS?

A: Yes — the XND-C8083RV supports ONVIF for standard third-party integration. For AI-specific event forwarding into third-party VMS alarm workflows, test event delivery to your recorder before large rollouts.
