§ 01Overview

What the QNV-C8013R is

The Hanwha QNV-C8013R is a 5MP AI outdoor IR vandal dome camera built for exposed outdoor zones where impact resistance and intelligent detection need to work together — exterior building walls, car park entries, school yards, and public-facing facades.

A fixed 3mm lens provides approximately 100° horizontal and 73° vertical field of view, capturing 2592x1944 resolution at up to 30fps.

The on-board AI engine classifies people and vehicles separately, supporting line crossing, loitering, and intrusion detection for meaningful event management — filtering out shadow flicker, wind-blown vegetation, and bird movement that clutter standard motion detection.

120dB Wide Dynamic Range combined with WiseNR II noise reduction preserves detail across variable lighting and low-light IR-lit scenes, while WiseStream III compression keeps bandwidth and storage manageable.

Built-in IR extends usable coverage to 25m, and the metal/polycarbonate dome housing is rated IEC 60529 IP66 and IEC 62262 IK10 with -30°C to +55°C operating range.

A microSD slot supporting cards up to 256GB provides extended edge-recording failover — double the ceiling of older Q-series models.

§ 04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the QNV-C8013R

Longer IR Than the C8011R Sibling

25m IR viewable length vs the 20m ceiling on the C8011R — meaningful for perimeter runs, school yards, and covered walkway lengths where the extra distance changes the mounting layout from 2 cameras to 1.

Documented Environmental Range

Explicit -30°C to +55°C operating range in disclosed specs — useful for inland Australian sites (cold snap resistance) or exterior mounts subject to direct sun beating on the housing.

Extended Edge Failover Buffer

256GB microSD ceiling is double the 128GB limit on older Q-series — practical impact: a longer edge-recording window when the NVR or network link is temporarily unavailable, particularly relevant on sites with unreliable connectivity.

Meaningful AI Events

On-device person/vehicle classification plus line crossing, loitering, and intrusion detection generate alerts on real events — cutting operator review time compared to raw motion clips.

§ 05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

School Yard Perimeters and Building Facades

25m IR + IK10 handle mid-length perimeter runs from a single unit, while AI loitering detection flags subjects lingering near restricted areas after school hours.

Car Park Entries and Covered Vehicle Approaches

AI vehicle classification generates alerts on real vehicle arrivals rather than shadow flicker, and line crossing rules can track entry/exit direction at boom gates.

Public-Facing Building Facades

IP66/IK10 combination handles exposed outdoor mounts where tampering and weather are both risks, and the 100° H field frames a full facade section from one mount.

Australian Inland Commercial Sites

The -30°C to +55°C operating range covers cold-snap conditions in inland regions and summer heat on north-facing walls with direct sun exposure.

Installation & setup

01

What is in the Box

1. Hanwha QNV-C8013R Camera x 1 2. Mounting Screws & Anchors x 1 set 3. Quick Start Guide x 1

02

Installation Requirements

1. Power: PoE — verify PoE switch/injector budget when adding AI-enabled cameras. 2. Storage: microSD / SDHC / SDXC card, up to 256GB, for extended edge recording failover. 3. Mounting: ceiling, soffit, or wall — metal/polycarbonate vandal dome housing. 4. Sealing: preserve the IP66 rating by sealing all cable and conduit entries.

03

App/Software Setup

1. Access via web viewer, or add to Hanwha Wisenet WAVE or SSM software. 2. Configure AI analytics: draw virtual lines and intrusion zones, tune loitering dwell time. 3. Test event forwarding into your VMS or notification pipeline. 4. Consider edge-recording to microSD for offline resilience on sites with unreliable connectivity.

§ 07Questions

Frequently asked about the QNV-C8013R

Q.01

Q: How is this different from the QNV-C8011R?

A: Both are 5MP Q-Core AI vandal domes with a 3mm fixed lens and 100° H FoV. The C8013R extends IR to 25m (vs 20m on the C8011R), adds explicit -30°C to +55°C operating range disclosure, and supports 256GB microSD (vs 128GB). Pick the C8013R when IR reach, environmental range, or edge storage matters; the C8011R is a lower-cost option when 20m IR is sufficient.
Q.02

Q: How far does the IR reach?

A: Built-in IR extends scene coverage to 25m — appropriate for school yard perimeters, car park entries, and mid-length covered walkway runs.
Q.03

Q: What AI events can this camera detect?

A: Person and vehicle classification, virtual line crossing (with direction), loitering (subjects lingering beyond a configurable dwell time), and intrusion into a defined zone. Configure through the web viewer or Wisenet WAVE during commissioning.
Q.04

Q: How much microSD storage is supported?

A: A single microSD / SDHC / SDXC slot supports cards up to 256GB — double the ceiling of older Q-series 128GB models. Practical impact: longer edge-recording failover window when the NVR or network is temporarily unavailable.
Q.05

Q: What's the operating temperature range?

A: -30°C to +55°C — covers inland Australian cold snaps and summer heat on exposed north-facing walls with direct sun.
Q.06

Q: Is the housing rated for direct outdoor exposure?

A: Yes — IEC 60529 IP66 (dust-tight, protected against water jets) and IEC 62262 IK10 (impact resistance). Metal/polycarbonate dome construction; seal all cable and conduit entries to preserve the IP66 rating.
Q.07

Q: How does WiseNR II help with storage?

A: WiseNR II handles sensor noise in low-light and IR-lit scenes, preventing dark-scene footage from inflating compressed bitrate. Combined with WiseStream III and H.265, this keeps NVR storage predictable across day/night cycles.
Q.08

Q: Can this integrate with a third-party NVR or VMS?

A: Yes — the QNV-C8013R supports ONVIF for standard third-party integration. For AI-specific event forwarding into third-party VMS alarm workflows, test event delivery to your recorder before large rollouts.
