Bosch RF120 SMART RF 2-Way Base Station for Solution 6000
The Bosch RF120 is the two-way wireless base station for a Solution 6000 system: a 433.42 MHz transceiver on the panel’s RS485 LAN that talks both ways to SMART RF keyfobs and, with Bosch compatibility enabled, to selected Bosch RF detectors, so a site gets wireless devices where cable cannot go.

01Overview
What the SMART RF Base Station - RS485 is
The Bosch RF120 is a base station rather than a plain receiver, and that changes how a site is covered. Up to 4 of them sit on the same RS485 LAN, each given a unique address on its DIP switch, so the radio is placed near the devices instead of one point trying to hear a whole building.
The link is protected rather than merely present. Rolling code encryption with anti-substitution technology means a transmission captured off the air cannot be used again, and dual diversity internal antennas give the radio more than one path to a device.
It is not a control panel and not an expander. It has no alarm inputs or outputs of its own, so zones and outputs stay on the panel, and it does not work outdoors, so a detached shed or an unheated space needs a different approach.
Fitting it is a wall job. It screws to a vertical surface in either landscape or portrait orientation, which lets it share a cupboard or riser with the panel, and it is a light load at 10V to 14V, 12V nominal, drawing 70mA at most. Front and rear tampers report if the case is opened or pulled away from the wall.
