What makes ColorPro 2.0 different from a standard Full Colour camera?

Standard Full Colour cameras rely on white LEDs to maintain colour at night — in genuinely dark conditions, those LEDs do the heavy lifting and can produce uneven or noisy results. ColorPro 2.0 uses a much larger F1.0 aperture and a 1/1.79" BSI sensor to gather far more available light before LEDs are needed. The result is cleaner, more natural colour with less reliance on supplemental lighting.

Will the white LED lights bother my neighbours?

No — the S445S uses a smart dual-light system. It stays in discreet IR mode by default and only activates the white LEDs when the AI detects a person or vehicle in your monitoring zone. Most of the night, the camera is completely invisible.

What is People and Vehicle Attributes Analytics and do I need it?

This ColorPro 2.0 feature (requires a VIGI NVR) lets you filter footage by attributes such as clothing colour and vehicle type. Instead of scrubbing through hours of recordings, you can search for a person in a red jacket from Tuesday evening in seconds. For most homes, standard human/vehicle classification is sufficient. For strata, retail, and commercial sites where review time has a real cost, Attributes Analytics is worth having.

Does the S445S need a spotlight to capture colour at night?

No. The F1.0 aperture and large BSI sensor can capture colour in very low ambient light — moonlight, distant street lamps, or reflected city glow can be enough. When light drops lower, the built-in fill LEDs activate. Because the sensor is so sensitive, the LEDs don't need to be as powerful as those on standard full-colour cameras.

Does it work with non-TP-Link NVRs?

The S445S is ONVIF-compliant and will stream basic video to most third-party NVRs. However, People and Vehicle Attributes Analytics, smart detection rules, and VIGI app push notifications require a TP-Link VIGI NVR or VIGI Security Manager. For the full feature set, keep it within the VIGI ecosystem.
