Description

This TP-Link VIGI kit pairs eight InSight S455 5MP full-colour turret cameras with a VIGI NVR1008H-8P 8-channel PoE recorder — full coverage for a larger home or a small-to-medium business. Each camera records in colour around the clock to about 30 metres, classifies people and vehicles to cut false alerts, and has a built-in microphone and speaker for two-way audio and active deterrence. The 8-port PoE NVR powers and connects all eight cameras over a single cable each. No hard drive is included, so you can size storage to suit eight channels.

This TP-Link VIGI 5MP kit gives full coverage with eight cameras and a matched 8-channel recorder — the right size for a larger home with several entry points or a small-to-medium business across a floor and a yard.

It brings together eight InSight S455 5MP full-colour turret cameras and the VIGI NVR1008H-8P, which has eight dedicated PoE ports so every camera connects over a single network cable that carries both power and data, with no separate injectors to add.

The S455 cameras record in full colour 24/7.

A high-sensitivity sensor with white LEDs keeps colour to about 30 metres at night, infrared is on hand for a discreet view, and AI classification of people and vehicles keeps eight channels' worth of notifications meaningful rather than constant.

A built-in microphone and speaker on each camera give you two-way audio for listening, speaking and sounding an audible warning.

The IP67 metal housings handle Australian weather, and H.265+ compression keeps eight continuous streams manageable on storage.

One honest note: the recorder does not include a hard drive.

For eight cameras recording continuously at 5MP a 4TB surveillance drive is a sensible minimum, with 6TB or 8TB preferred for longer retention — add the drive that matches your keep time.

The cameras ship with the 2.8 mm wide lens, with a 4 mm option available on request in the order comments, and any individual camera can be supplied with the other lens.

TP-Link VIGI is NDAA compliant, and the kit is genuine stock with a local 3-year warranty and support.

What's in the box

Eight VIGI InSight S455 turret cameras (2.8 mm) with mounting accessories, one VIGI NVR1008H-8P recorder and guides. A hard drive, network cables and a monitor are supplied separately.

Installation requirements

Mount the eight cameras across the site, run one network cable from each to the NVR's PoE ports, and fit a surveillance-grade hard drive (4TB or larger suggested) before recording. Set up the system in the VIGI app or on a monitor, then test each view and the night mode before relying on it.

Is a hard drive included with this 8-camera kit?
No. The NVR1008H-8P is supplied without a hard drive. For eight cameras recording continuously at 5MP, a 4TB surveillance-grade drive is a sensible minimum, with 6TB or 8TB preferred for longer retention. Add a WD Purple or Seagate Skyhawk drive sized to your keep time.

Do all eight cameras record in colour at night?
Yes. Every S455 keeps full colour in low light using white LEDs to around 30 metres, and can switch to 850 nm infrared, also to 30 metres, for a discreet view. Colour night footage makes people and vehicles far easier to identify than infrared-only images.
Q.03

Does the NVR power the cameras, or do I need injectors?
The NVR1008H-8P has eight dedicated PoE ports, so each camera is powered and connected over a single network cable straight to the recorder. There are no separate power supplies or PoE injectors to add for the eight included cameras.
Q.04

How does the two-way audio work across eight cameras?
Each camera has its own built-in microphone and speaker, so two-way audio works on every channel. Through the VIGI app you can speak through any individual camera to deter an intruder or talk to a visitor at any covered entry point.
Q.05

Can the cameras be used with a third-party NVR?
Yes. They support ONVIF and RTSP and can be added to a third-party NVR, NAS or software that supports ONVIF, including many Hikvision and Dahua recorders. The included VIGI NVR is recommended for the full smart-event and management features.

What lens do the cameras use, and can it be changed per camera?
They ship with the 2.8 mm wide-angle lens for a 111.4° view. A 4 mm option is available for a tighter, longer view, and you can request the 4 mm lens for any individual camera in the order comments at checkout.

Is the kit weatherproof and NDAA compliant?
Yes on both. The cameras carry IP67-rated metal housings for outdoor use, and TP-Link VIGI is NDAA compliant, which suits schools, councils and other sites with approved-hardware requirements. The kit is genuine stock with a local 3-year warranty.
