01Overview

What the DS-2CD6D42G2-IS is

Consider this dual-directional camera where a single mounting position needs to cover two approaches, such as an entrance and an adjoining passage.

Each 2.8 mm lens provides a 110.4° horizontal field of view.

Human and vehicle classification supports perimeter event filtering.

Plan power with an IEEE 802.3at PoE+ source or suitable 12 VDC supply, and confirm that your recorder supports both video channels.

The IP67 and IK10 enclosure has no specific anti-corrosion protection, so those ratings alone do not establish suitability for a salt-exposed site.

Frequently asked about the DS-2CD6D42G2-IS

Q.01

Does 4 MP describe each channel or the whole camera?

Each of the two channels supports 2688 × 1520 video at up to 20 fps. This listing is for one camera containing both channels. Check support for both channels when selecting or configuring a recorder.
Q.02

What power source does this camera require?

Hikvision specifies IEEE 802.3at Class 4 PoE, commonly called PoE+, or 12 VDC ±20% at 1.2 A. Maximum consumption is 14 W. Check the power standard of the switch, injector or recorder port before installation.
Q.03

Is this the 2.8 mm or 4 mm version?

This listing is for the dual 2.8 mm version. Its field of view per lens is 110.4° horizontally and 54.4° vertically. The manufacturer also lists a 4 mm version with different viewing angles.
Q.04

Can it record audio and use a memory card?

The camera has two built-in microphones and supports microSD, microSDHC and microSDXC cards up to 1024 GB. Card support describes capacity, not a supplied memory card; check your recording and storage requirements when ordering.
Q.05

Is it suitable for outdoor or coastal installation?

The enclosure is rated IP67 and IK10, with an operating range of -30°C to 60°C. Hikvision states that this model has no specific anti-corrosion protection. Assess salt exposure and other corrosive conditions separately when choosing an installation location.
