Bosch RADION Wireless Glass Break Detector Square RFGB
The Bosch RFGB is a RADION wireless glass break detector for Bosch Solution 3000 and 6000 alarm systems. It listens for the specific sound and pressure waves of breaking glass to protect windows and glass doors, and because it is wireless there is no cable to run to the sensor. It is a wireless device and needs a Bosch RADION wireless receiver.

§ 01Overview
What the RFGB is
The Bosch RFGB is the RADION wireless glass break detector used to protect windows and glass doors on a Bosch Solution 3000 or 6000, without running cable to the sensor. It guards the perimeter, so an intruder is detected at the glass before they are inside.
It uses dual acoustic detection: when something strikes glass, the pane first emits a low-frequency pressure (flex) wave, and only if it shatters does it emit a high-frequency audio signal. The detector listens for the flex wave first and the audio second, which rejects everyday sounds such as a bell or a dropped object that produce audio but no flex wave. An omni-directional microphone gives 360-degree coverage and detects breaking plate, tempered, wired and laminated glass up to 6.4mm thick, even through blinds or lightweight drapes.
The RFGB runs on one CR123A lithium battery for up to five years and is supervised for low battery, cover tamper and removal from its mount. It is a wireless device and is not standalone: it needs a Bosch RADION receiver, the B810 on a Solution 3000 or the RFRC-STR2 on a Solution 6000. Mount it indoors on the opposite wall or ceiling within clear view of the glass, at least 1.2m from the glass and ideally within 6m, in a room no smaller than 3m x 3m. Glass break detectors are a perimeter layer and work best alongside motion detectors.

Installation & setup
What it is
A RADION wireless glass break detector. It is not standalone and needs a Bosch RADION receiver: the B810 on a Solution 3000 or the RFRC-STR2 on a Solution 6000.
Where to mount
Indoors, on the opposite wall or the ceiling with clear line of sight to the glass, at least 1.2m from the glass and ideally within 6m. Use a room of at least 3m x 3m.
Where not to mount
Avoid corners, the same wall as the glass, humid rooms, rooms with heavy drapes or shutters, and rooms with loud equipment or constant noise.
Power and setup
In Australia a Bosch alarm should be installed by a licensed security installer, who wires the device to the panel, programs it and tests the system. The installer enrols the detector to the RADION receiver, sets sensitivity and walk-tests it; the CR123A battery lasts up to five years.
