About All Turret Cameras

Turret cameras are Australia's most popular residential CCTV form factor — and Smarket carries them from all four major brands. The compact eyeball design fits cleanly under residential eaves, the open-face lens produces cleaner IR night vision than dome cameras, and the 3-axis ball-joint mount makes aiming straightforward. Resolutions span 4MP to 8MP (4K); pricing ranges from approximately $80 (HiLook IPC-T262H-MU) to over $300 (Hikvision 4K ColorVu variants).

Browse by brand: Hikvision turret cameras (DS-2CD2366G2 / DS-2CD2386G2 series, AcuSense + ColorVu / Smart Hybrid Light), Dahua turret cameras (HDW3666EMP-S / HDW3849H-AS-PV series, WizSense + TiOC active deterrence), HiLook turret cameras (IPC-T262H-MU from $80, Hikvision NVR compatible), or TP-Link VIGI turret cameras (zero subscription, ONVIF open standard).

Comparing All Turret Cameras Models

Cross-Brand Turret Comparison — Quick Decision Guide

Need active deterrence (siren + strobe + voice)? → Dahua HDW3849H-AS-PV (TiOC). The only turret form factor with built-in active deterrence in Smarket's range.

Need full-colour night vision down to 0.0005 lux? → Hikvision DS-2CD2386G2-LSU/SL (ColorVu). Dahua's full-colour smart dual-light comes close but ColorVu has the lower lux ceiling.

Need lowest entry price? → HiLook IPC-T262H-MU (~$80). Among the lowest entry prices for a current-generation 6MP IP turret with smart detection in Australia.

Need ecosystem independence / open standard? → TP-Link VIGI turret. ONVIF Profile S/G/T, networking-brand reliability.

Default residential pick? → Dahua HDW3666EMP-S (6MP WizSense — top seller). Excellent value, smart dual-light, built-in mic.

Common Questions about All Turret Cameras

Which brand turret camera is best for an Australian home?

For premium feature ceiling: Hikvision DS-2CD2386G2 (8MP 4K AcuSense, ColorVu options). For active deterrence: Dahua HDW3849H-AS-PV (6MP TiOC with siren and strobe). For best value: Dahua HDW3666EMP-S (6MP WizSense — top-selling Dahua turret). For lowest entry price: HiLook IPC-T262H-MU (6MP from $80). All deliver excellent core image quality — the differentiators are AI tier, night vision technology, and price.

Are turret cameras suitable for outdoor use?

Yes — all turret cameras stocked at Smarket are IP67-rated for full outdoor operation. Mount them under eaves, on walls, or on soffits. Turrets are the preferred outdoor camera form factor for most Australian residential entry points and shorter-range positions. For longer-range outdoor perimeter (20m+), bullet cameras are usually better suited due to their larger IR arrays.

What is the difference between turret and dome cameras?

Turrets have an open-face design that makes aiming straightforward and produces cleaner IR night vision (no dome glass to reflect IR back into the lens). Best for residential under-eave mounting. Dome cameras have sealed vandal-proof IK10 housings — best for retail, offices, and any area where the camera may be within arm's reach of the public. For homes, choose turret; for commercial public-accessible interiors, choose dome.

Can I mix turret cameras from different brands on one NVR?

Via ONVIF, yes — basic live view and recording works cross-brand. However, advanced AI features (AcuSense smart search, WizSense classification, TiOC control) require brand-matched turrets and NVRs. Hikvision NVRs work fully with HiLook turrets via Hikvision native protocol (same ecosystem). Smarket recommends matching brands within a single system for full feature support, or accepting basic ONVIF-only operation when mixing.

Before you buy

What customers ask most before ordering from this range — and how we deliver.

See all FAQs →

Will these cameras work with my existing NVR?

Most of our Hikvision and Dahua cameras support ONVIF, so they'll work with many third-party NVRs for basic recording. However, AI features like AcuSense, WizSense and active deterrence only work fully when the camera and NVR are the same brand. If you're adding to an existing system, email us the NVR model and we'll confirm compatibility before you buy.

Can I mix different cameras on one NVR, or add more later?

Yes. You can mix 6MP and 8MP, or ColorVu and AcuSense, on the same NVR as long as the total bandwidth stays within the NVR's rating (we check this for every kit we sell). To add cameras later, just plug them into a spare PoE port on the NVR — no reconfiguration needed. This is why we suggest an 8-channel NVR even if you start with 4 cameras.

How long does delivery take?

Order before 2pm (Sydney time) on a business day and in-stock items are dispatched the same day. Most orders arrive within 1–4 business days Australia-wide; remote and regional areas can take a little longer. You'll receive a tracking number by email as soon as your order leaves the warehouse.

How much is shipping?

Standard shipping is free on all orders over $300 AUD, Australia-wide. Orders under $300 ship at a flat rate of $25, calculated at checkout. Tracking is included on every order.

What warranty do you offer?

All cameras, NVRs and DVRs come with a 3-year back-to-base manufacturer warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. Hard drives and accessories are covered as set out in our Warranty Policy.

What is your return policy?

You have 30 days from the day you receive your order to request a change-of-mind return. Items must be unopened, factory-sealed and in resalable condition. A 15% restocking fee applies and return postage is at your cost. Faulty or incorrectly supplied items are different: we cover the return shipping and refund or replace at no charge. Read the full Return & Refund Policy.

Is your Hikvision, Dahua, HiLook and TP-Link VIGI stock genuine Australian stock?

Yes, 100%. Every Hikvision, Dahua, HiLook and TP-Link VIGI product we sell is a genuine Australian-market model sourced through Australian supply chains — never grey imports. That means factory-sealed units, Australian-region firmware that works with the official apps out of the box, and a full 3-year local warranty.
